App Store shows updates, opens apps instead, update through search

So I have the badge showing 8 updates. The update tab shows 8 as well. I clicked update and it opened the app instead of updating. I used the search tab and searched for one of the apps needing an update. Here the app shows open. I clicked open and it prompted me for my apple password (shouldn't happen for updates btw) and then updates the app. I go back to the updates tab and it's moved down under updated October 10, 2014 but still shows update. I click update and it opens the app. I went back to the search again and clicked open where it opened the app.

i have an Ipad 3 with IOS 8.1.

I have had the same problem updates on the App Icon show 10, i tried to use the UPDATE ALL button in the App Store, it seemed to download them but did not update them and i lost the update option.

The Icon still shows 10 updates awaiting.

I tried the re-boot and other options on this forum but none worked.

I have stumbled upon a solution for my Ipad which worked for me... hope it works for others.

I couldnt update any of the 10 apps that were requesting an update, so i decided to try 1 at a time but decided to delete the App first. One of the updates which was waiting update was Twitter... so i deleted it and re-installed it. I then checked the App Store again and it had updated, i had 9 left. When in the store i noticed my UPDATE ALL button had come back so i tried it again... and it updated the lot

Hope this works for other people with the App update problem

As you can see from the post on this subject Apple doesn't care about users. They are all about money and they don't care if they break older users when they release a new device. Their solution is always upgrade and this is wrong. If you break something fix it.

Couple of years ago you could roll out of an upgrade if it caused you issues. However, for some reason Apple decide to not allow that. smart people never jump on a new release until all the bugs are worked out and the applications they are using supports it.

Wakeup Apple.... Listen to your users. They are they one that pays your salary and bills.
