How do I know if my iPhone photo has been sent?

When I take a photo with my iPhone and send it, how do i know it has been sent?

Tap the Mail app in the Dock then tap Mailboxes then tap Sent.

When you send a picture using SMS (green), there is no "delivered" message. You only get the delivered notification if you are using iMessage (blue). Whether or not you hear the sound would depend on your sound settings. My experience has been that anything not sent results in an error message. Have you received any error messages? Have you tried asking the people to whom you have sent the messages if they have received them?
