I get the icon to update my apps. When I click on the update button, it instead goes to the app, and won't update.

Apps won't update.

Sorry Brett but thats a poor reply. Its the equivalent of waiting for tech support to reply and then they say 'Have you tried turning it on and off ?'. There are many threads about this, i've got the same problem.

I've got an iphone 4s 7.04, i dont want to update to ios8 as it'll run slow on my iphone 4s, I have 500+ apps on my iphone and many wont work on ios8.

When i upgraded from ios4-5 and 5-6 and 6-7 i never had this issue. Apple didnt 'force' me to update.

Theres an issue with the app store for people on ios7. Its this Apples way of forcing people to update or to stop jailbreakers ? I'm not jailbroken but i dont want ios8 on my phone.

It says i have an update, i press update and the app OPENS not UPDATES. Its frustrating.

I spend a lot of money on apps and Apple are just not helping at all. I opened up one case file and the answer before it was closed was 'try updating to the latest ios8'.

Thats poor service. Updates are not working for apps i've bought on my iphone due to the way Apples changed the app store recently. Look at other recent threads....

iPad Air since iOS 8: Apps not updating and downloading no longer possible. Fix?

Why can't I download or update apps on iPad running iOS 8

apps on a ipod touch 5th gen need updates but when you try to update them it just opens the app

This apparently has worked for some people...

"Solution: Unfortunately i'm not sure Apple will ever fix this, but a solution for now is to simply click the apps name (not update) in the update section of the App store. this will take you to that Apps page where you can then update the App by pressing update. You'll have to do them 1 by 1, but it is the only way iv'e tried so far that works. I have tried rebooting, respringing, resetting defaults, resetting network settings, logging in/out of App store, toggling on/off restrictions, and deleting/re installing the apps that had this issue."

I mean seriously ? Cant Apple just admit there are issues with the App store and they'll fix it ?

Update - The Kindle app is now wanting to be updated, i press update and instead it opens the app ! I press the apps name (Kindle) and then press the Update button as suggested above and it asks for my password and then updates the app. Kindle still says 'update' but its now not displaying a red 1 to show one update.

Please please could someone fix this.
