what keys do I press to 'force quit on a windows keyboard

You can try:

1. COMMAND-Q
2. Press COMMAND-OPTION-ESC to open task manager. Select application, click on Force Quit button.
3. On the Dock icon for the application CTRL- or RIGHT-click and choose Force Quit from the menu.
4. Open Activity Monitor and locate the application under Processes Name. Select and click the Quit icon in the toolbar.

Or click the -menu in the upper left corner of the screen and select "Force quit". It should show you the current shortcut.
