To date, about 4 people have come to the forum to say they bent their phone. If this was such an issue, we'd be seeing waaaaaaay more reports of bent phones. A friend of mine is an Apple Store Genius and he told me (he'd have no reason to not be honest) that in our local Apple Store, not one person has come in with a bent phone. Apple itself has publicly stated (this was about a week ago) that they've received nine complaints.
So, do the math. Apple how has sold at least 60,000,000 phones and the percentage of complaints isn't even statistically relevant. Bottom line, the phone is thinner and is made of aluminum. Any phone made of aluminum, which stressed enough could bend (not just Apple phones). So put it in a case, don't sit on it and be responsible with your device.
TThink you have the wrong person, mines just bent 🙂 along with the rest of the incidents in this form.
Maybe if you hadn't posted a dozen or so times with the exact same message, you could accuse me of not remembering your user-name. Unforunatley for you, I do remember........ but eh, your explanation of the phone bending after YOU dropped it does make more sense than Spontaneous bending.
Your response is not helpful at all, it should be removed. Regardless, if dropping your phone isn't part of the design criteria, it should be.
It is part of the design criteria as much as possible within price constraints. But not phone is designed to be dropped onto a hard surface. Depending upon what and how it strikes it can break the glass and bend the frame. If it were made of titanium or carbon-fiber or composites it would be less likely to do so but are you willing to pay $1,200 or more for a smartphone?

And also cracked when it fell out of your pocket. There may be a design flaw involved but it's probably not with your phone. Phones crack and bend when they fall out of a pocket and hit the ground.
The iPhones previous to the 6 nnever had a bending issue and they're not made out of titanium. I still have my 3G, 4S in perfect condition. They been dropped more than my 6.
Which is why I'm here, to let the designers know that maybe iPhones shouldn't bend when dropped from pocket height.

Your expectations are unrealistic. On a number of levels.
II'd rather pay the $1200 because that's the price of the repairs and the phone when it brakes.

Clearly you've never heard of AppleCare+ for $99? Seems you might have benefited from this much less expensive plan Apple has offered for many years.
Oh and BTW., I've unfortunately dropped my iPhone 6. More than once. It's not bent. And while we're on this subject, the iPhone 4, 4s, 5 and 5s could bend too. The fact yours didn't doesn't mean the iPhone 6 bends more easily. You just didn't bend your earlier phones.
ive had numerous iPhones which survived 3ft (pocket height) drops, maybe even more.
Unfortunately it was never promoted to me by my provider.
wasnt a 6+ so that doesn't count
I see. So you dropped your phone and it's Apple's fault. You didn't invest in AppleCare+ and it's your providers fault.
Ever heard of taking responsibility for your own actions?
You aren't big on personal responsibility are you?
You can do an out-of-warranty replacement of an iPhone 6 for $299 USD which is far less than $1,200. I've had as many phones as you and I can count the time they have been dropped on one hand. I did have a 2 year old knock my 6 Plus off of a table, still working, not bent.
