What has happened to my alerts in iTunes?

hey there,I usually use the My Alerts click in the iTunes store. It has recently disappeared. I was wondering if it may have been moved or discontinued.

Does anyone here know what might have happened to it? Thanks and I hope is well with everyone.

I posted the same topic 3 days ago, without answers.

Actually, till 2/3 days ago "my alerts" was still available inside a musical genre.

Now it completely disappeared.

It was the function I used the most in order to find music I like.

The whole idea My Alerts was iTunes "alerting" us about new music from our favorite artists via email. I can't remember the last time I actually got one of those emails. Yes, my list of artists is still accessible under my account, but there's absolutely nothing being done with it, so it's fairly useless.

Also, I checked out some of iTunes apps for alerting new music. Two had no reviews at all, one had mostly bad reviews.

Actually I did what you suggested and I want to thank you.

But I didn't get any section regarding artist I bought music from.

I got a section called "genius advices" but this is nothing compared to what it was the original "my alerts".

I menaged the genius alerts in order to be informed about new material from my purchased music.

I Still think something's different.

If you upgrade to iTunes 12 (yes, it's lame we are forced to upgrade, but that's another story) about a quarter to half-way down the main iTunes store page, you should see a "New from Your Artists" section there. It is no longer a link on the right panel, it's an actual store section now. It kinda emulates what "My Alerts" used to be. It doesn't seem as in-depth at the moment, but I suspect they are working out the kinks, so I will remain patient for now.

The "My Alerts" link disappeared in version 11, just before the release of iTunes 12. I was told the decision for the remove of this link was based on a potential security risk. Like many, I hope it is restored quickly. I am at a loss for how best to keep up with new, relevant content, consistent with my library. Genius recommendations and the new, "Artists You Like", which does not consistently show up and is almost NEVER updated are weak substitutions. If you're reading this Apple, please know this link is sorely missed.

I remember Apple once did away with "Just Added" which are the new albums by genre. That's where I get most of my music if I buy it from iTunes. Of course, they restored the Just Added section but they make it difficult by doing away with popular sections like the My Alerts section. Sounds like there are a couple of options, though, with the recent additions.

Well, I finally found it and it works pretty well...at least you get the option to tell Apple ONLY those artists you want to be told about. Maybe because I'm almost 70, but iTunes seems to get more complicated with each update. I just master one version and they start on another. On Windows Vista, when iTunes closes, you get a Data Execution Prevention error. I stopped the message but it made my computer run slower, so I set it back up. Hope Apple fixes these issues in the next 12 update. I'm finding it difficult to consistently enlarge my artwork to the size I like (12"). The Control key, which you use with Windows, doesn't always enlarge it; only half the time. Hope you are listening, Apple.

Evan thank you for the information I've had a question up since November with no response from anyone.

I have over 20 artist added to my alerts section but I do not have that section above the "New From Your Artist" it is on the main screen of the store???

I really want to figure this out that was the most important part of my visits to iTunes and I've been so disappointed that iTunes removed it.

Also I have NEVER received an email notification of new material from my listed artist if you know a reason why I'd appreciate the help. I get email from iTunes all the time so they have the right email address.

Thank you in advance.
