Facetime and Imessage enabeling on UAE iphone 6

I bought an iphone 6 form UAE, but i am using it in Egypt with an Egyptian operator SIM card.

The facetime and imessging are barred in UAE but not in Egypt.

How can i enable them on my iphone?

Keep believing that, pal. But here are the facts:

Either

A) Your iPhone was not one that was designated by Apple to be sold in the UAE.

B) You have modified the iPhone in some way to bypass the restriction.

C) The rules have changed regarding FaceTime on iPhone sold in the UAE.

D) You have an extremely rare and unconfirmed anomaly.

And those are in order of most likely to least likely.

For everyone else, if you have a legitimately purchased iPhone in the UAE, you will not have FaceTime available.

Hi Yehia ,

This is Adham, am Egyptian too, my case is i have a friend in Dubai that he has ordered for me Iphone 6 plus from UAE apple store here the link http://store.apple.com/ae/buy-iphone/iphone6/5.5-inch-display-64gb-silver-unlock ed

Unfortunately it doesn't support Facetime in UAE there is no factime application and not listed in the settings, but i will use it here in Egypt using Vodafone.EG Sim card, so are you really sure that it will work with me here or not ? However are you sure that your phone was not supporting facetime in UAE or u just tried here in egypt and you found it working? am saying that probably that your phone was enabling Facetime in UAE too.

Please advice, your advice will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Dear Adham

I have mentioned here my experuence, i baught the phone from the apple store (same URL u sent)

the face time and imessage worked so fine when i used my egyptian SIM (etisalat)

i didn't try using a UAE SIM with it in UAE but it shouldn't work.

What i can advise u is that u try it with the VF SiM and see u have no option except this 🙂

Guys " Yehiasidkey" was totally right.

I have just contacted the apple support and i have a little chat with them regarding this issue as i have the same question, my case is i have bought iPhone 6 plus from the UAE apple store and for sure there is no FaceTime application or even FaceTime in the settings as they are disabling this feature in UAE, However i will use this i phone in Egypt which they are enabling this feature in Egypt as i have another i phone with Egypt Sim Card and it works fine so i asked them i want to use the iPhone 6 that i have just bought from UAE and work it in Egypt and enabling the FaceTime is that possible ? and they replied with if my country are not denying using FaceTime and iMessage thew will work fine. as they are disabling this function by location only, so once i will be in Egypt i have to restore my phone and it will relocate my location Automatically and the FaceTime and the iMessage will work then as long as my carrier provider is allowing this function.

and actually that make sense as i never heard before anyone here in Egypt has iPhone with no FaceTime feature am always hearing this in UAE and KSA.

I searched a lot online for answers for this question and i always find " it will not work " or "it disabled you can't enable it" and i really get disappointed for those answers as i payed a lot for this phone, so i guarantee to you that it will works in your phone as long as you are not in the districted country, and if you don't believe me you can contact the Apple support by yourself as i did.

Thanks Yehia begad, Henaa kolo beyefty enta el wa7ed elly tell3t betfham 🙂 i shared my experience as same as you did, so they believe it or not its their own problem, once i have the phone here in Egypt i will try it and i will give you the feedback, am pretty sure that it will works, as i contacted apple from my Macbook i found apple support in itunes and they gave me a list of questions that i have to answer them all and also i gave them the serial no for my iPhone before i started the conversation with one of the technical support guys, and she was pretty sure it will work, and after this conversation they sent me the conversation number to save it for any reference, so if it doesn't work i will contact them and i will tell them this my Conversation no. and you granteed that the FaceTime will work 🙂 so enable it its your problem now you told me that it will work 🙂

Hi Yehia,

As you told me bezabt, the Facetime and the Imessage are working fine here in Egypt even i bought it without them 🙂

that means it's not locked in phone its locked in the distracted countries and if you travel from those countries and use another sim card and you restore the phone the Facetime will works and shows in the settings and you will find the application too. Cool i do love Apple 🙂

thanks Yehia for your support, i wish we could contact each other again thanks bro 🙂
