Yosemite (OS X 10.10) killed my WiFi :(

I just updated to Yosemite on a brand new 15" MBP Retina Display. For some reason my WiFi is not working. I turn it on and select the network I want to join (my regular network at home that I've been using with this same computer before updating). So, I turn it on and select the network and doesn't seem to want to join it and then my WiFi switches back off completely.

Is anyone else having problems with their WiFi on Yosemite?

Yup, same issue, same machine. Tried wiping the Bluetooth.plist and rebooting but no luck.

I am not sure how or why, but the suggestion above to delete the bluetooth.plist and rebooting has seemed to help. I have not yet lost the connection wifi in say the last 15 minutes. Which I wouldn't go 3 minutes before. I will keep an eye on it and update later if it comes back, but this appears to have put me back on track to having working WIFI.

Same issue. Macbook Air 2013 using a Cisco WPA2 Enterprise Wireless Network (PEAP).

Connects fine and will maintain connection whilst I'm not anything that requires wifi. As soon as the connection comes under any kind of load (for example the app store updates for iTunes, iMovie etc) it disconnects. Update times out, then it reconnects fine.

I have tried removing and re-adding WiFi adaptor and also doing a PRAM reset.

I have done the following:

- I have removed /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

- I have removed /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/JavaScriptAppleEvents.framework/Versions/A/Re sources/BridgeSupportCache/IOBluetooth.plist

- I have removed /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/JavaScriptAppleEvents.framework/Versions/A/Re sources/BridgeSupportCache/CoreBluetooth.plist

- I manually removed network settings under Sys Prefs

After everything, I have restarted. None of this resolved my issue.

I have a MBP A1398 connected via WIFI to a Netgear R7000. I have tried BOTH 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and I experience the same issue. My laptop will connect, get an IP, and work for about 30 seconds to a minute. Then the connection becomes unusable. It says it is still connected, but I cannot ping anything, not even the AP. This all happened as soon as I rebooted from the Yosemite Upgrade.

The good folks at the Apple Helpline gave me this solutions and it worked.

Open Finder > Choose Go From the menu at the top of the screen > Click on Computer > Double Click on Macintosh HD > Double Click on Library > Double Click on Preferences > Click once on the file called "SystemConfirguration" > CMD+DEL the file > Enter your password > restart.

It worked like a charm 🙂

Hope it helps you guys out.

Wifi is completely dead on my mid-2012 MacBook Pro. It was switched on after I had upgraded to Yosemite but as soon as I tried to switch networks, it automatically switched off and hasn't allowed me to turn it back on since, be it through network preferences or in the toolbar at the top.

Tried some of the fixes in here to no avail. Basically sitting here with a good-looking OS that can't even get Wifi right.

Had no wifi after Yosemite upgrade. Got apple support help for my macbook and this worked!!!!!

And these are the steps to take:

1. Shut down your Mac.

2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.

3. Turn on the computer.

4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.

5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup chime for the second time.

6. Release the keys.
