Yosemite download error

Not sure about your Internet connection environment, though try download Yosemite later would be the solution.

i get a similar error - it almost completes the download and then it just errors out "download error - nsinstallationexception"

any ideas?

I have same issue. Downloads about 5 GB then stops with the error message ("The application could not be downloaded. The installation could not be started.") and asks to begin again with request for id password.

Same problem here with a late-2010 macbook; OS X10.7.5.

Having the exact same issue. Not sure why, I've tried all day yesterday and all day today. Still not able to download completely. I hope someone answers this issue.

I'm running into the same issue. I have an OS X Mavericks 10.9.5

I have been trying to download but the "error has occurred" messages pops up. Some of the app's won't start working till the new OS X is updated.

I Got the Same Problem Cuz when the download stops, a message saids an error Package "Essentials.pkg" and i really need somebody to help cuz i need this install before next saturday.

Dido. Mac Book Air. 10.9.5. Intel i5.

I've tried 4 times to download Yosemite, resigned in as you did each time. The first download was completed, but then nothing happened. I restarted and nothing happened, nothing installed. That's when I tried again and so on.

The next 3 tries the download gets nearly to 5G, stalls, and then says this. .... Now it's simply frozen like this. I've rebooted several times, and the 'error has occurred' message stays there, frozen.

I have been trying yo download Yosemite and get the same download error MSG it gets to 870MB and then just sits there and the the error msg flashes

I have the same problem--gets to about 870 Mb and stops. My measured download speed is above 6 Mbs, so the connection is good, if not very speedy. I've tried several times, morning and night, with the same results.

Grrrr.

I Downloaded Yosemite and it worked but made my macbook air 13 chronically slow.

After about 3 hours my Mac suddenly crashed and I am now unable to reboot it.

This is rubbish, I can't work because of this.

Sort it out apple and if anyone knows how I might fix this please holler.

Found this in /var/log/appstore.log:

So I tried to rename that folder:

mv /var/folders/_p/4ywsgzt13js61v1vfk6prq7m0000gn/C/com.apple.appstore/915041082 /var/folders/_p/4ywsgzt13js61v1vfk6prq7m0000gn/C/com.apple.appstore/915041082.n omore

After this, the download could be started.
