Oct 17, 2014 2:49 AM in response to Paradoxxxby richt07,I am having the same problem. I can't make phone calls from iMac, I get a message saying "iPhone calls not available"
I read that the iMac has to 2012 model or later (here), mine is an iMac early 2009 so I thought that was the obvious problem...
...but strangely I can receive and answer calls on my iMac.

Oct 17, 2014 8:17 AM in response to Paradoxxxby bigbang001,When I receive calls on my iPhone my mac indicates that I have a Phone call & I can answer the call.
But when I try to make regular call from my mac I get an error iPhone calls not available....
also I can't send or receive regular sms on my mac.
I think it's because iOS should be updated to 8.1 maybe it's not working on 8.0.2

Oct 17, 2014 8:20 AM in response to bigbang001by Lefttygtr5150,Got mine to work. It looks like you have to be signed in on FaceTime on both devices first, then in FaceTime make sure on your iPhone you are using your apple id and allow iPhone cellular call enabled.

Oct 17, 2014 8:20 AM in response to bigbang001by ClaraMGR,You are one step ahead of me. When my iPhone rings, my MBP does nothing. They are both in the same network, I have checked all the settings.
And if I want to initiate a call from the MBP, I cannot even do it because the icon is grayed out.

Oct 17, 2014 9:16 AM in response to bigbang001by ClaraMGR,Same here! I can only call people with iOS devices (as usual, via FaceTime or sending iMessage), but not calling the rest (the option is grayed out). I receive incoming calls, though.
