Final Cut Pro X is not working with Yosemite!

Well I spoke way too fast. Just tried to jump in and get some work done in FCPX 10.1.3 and once again it stalled at "restoring window layout". I once again trashed the FCPX app, reinstalled FCPX from the App Store and it stalls at opening. I tried removing the layout folder as reported in another support post. Still not working and very frustrated!!

Come on Apple, little help!

I should add that I'm running a MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2012 2.7GHz, 16 GB, OS X 10.10 and I have 149 GB available on my SSD

You may have to do a clean install of Yosemite instead of the upgrade..which requires a back up because you will be basically wiping your hard drove clean..check forum as how to do it..I had the same plus a couple other issues with fc but the clean install wirked for me.

DDid you trash your preferences not just the layout folder?

He's on 10.0.9, which is a really old version, and a really obsolete version in terms of its architecture. Why don't you just update to the current build that works with the OS?

Hi Tom, I didn't purchase my Final Cut Pro through the app store, so it doesn't show up there. Do you know how I can work around this?

You have to legitimally buy the application. The only place to buy it is the App Store. If you obtained it any other way, you don't have a legal copy.

I just upgraded to Yosemite. I have FCPX 10.1.4. When I try to delete old clips "Move to Trash" they used to go to OS Trash. Now, they don't go anywhere that I can find. The files disappear from FCPX library, but Trash remains empty. According to Finder, the space available on my hard drive has not changed a bit. So where do they go? How do I restore from the presumably new Trash bin that I can't find? And how do I empty the Trash once I grab the accidental file?

Clips are only moved to the trash when you delete them from an event if they are not used. You should receive a warning saying so.

If a clip is still being used in a project and you delete it from an event it idisappears from the event (without further notice) but is not sent to the trash.

Thank you Luis that was correct. I did not receive a warning saying so but once I deleted the Project first the clips from it were then able to go bye bye.

I have the same problem plus I have lost a whole lot of other things like flip for mac and I cant access a few other things, I hate it, how do I get rid of this and just go back to normal how I was, I hate this new thing, I will be furious if I have to download 16 hours of footage again. ****!!!

WWithout say what your problem is no one can help you. If Flip isn't working you need to contact Telestream.

My problem is I just upgraded to this new Yosemtie thing and now I cant access my Final cut Pro, but worst of all I fear I have lost all my projects I was working on.
