What's happened to the favicon in Safari 8?.... I have a lot of tabs open and it was easy to navigate to the ones you wanted because they were easily recognisable... now they're all grey text; couldn't see anything in preferences.
Hello again...just wanted to let everyone know I found a Safari 8 "Favicon" workaround that worked for me (it can add favicons to tabs and/or the bookmark sidebar):

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Hi again.... the new mac Yosemite update also updates Safari to 8.0.7 and this seems to disable the favicon again.... I repeated the process but the Stand menu item next to Help didn't appear this time round.... ho hum, sigh etc
scratch that.... there was a workaround at the top of the page.... you basically have to remove Easy SIMBL and go back to an earlier version and repeat the process

My IMac and my MacbookPro have identical ,latest updated Safari and OS versions and have had no recent updates that I know of. 2 days ago my IMac ate my favicons while my Macbook Pro still has the colored ones. Comments please? Should I use one of the fixes on the IMac? Will the new Elcapitan fix this lunacy?
Thanks Anurag. For a moment I thought I could do this as too. But, alas, I'm a creative director, not a programmer.
Following your instructions I got close though, until I got stuck at the Terminal stage when none of my passwords would work. It was scary for me to work in Terminal to begin with, and I finally gave up and manually removed all the files of SIMBL and SafariStand installed so far.
I am absolutely certain that I will switch to another browser if I can't get favicons on Safari tabs back, it just takes way too much time to tediously scroll back and forth through the tabs bar, looking for the tab I need.
So Apple un-like where everything should just work.
