Where is option to have side bar in iTunes 12 ?

Since, 11 iTunes has been disabling my option of having the sidebar... which is annoying... but now I cant find the option to have it again... since I found this better and easier to use than that ribbon of silly icons... It is a pain in the neck dragging a song to my iPod, in its specific playlist(still don't know how to do it properly in this new version) ... This is why I had the side bar, it was constant to the GUI design of Finder...

Please enable the option to have iTunes sidebar again... the flat GUI is irritating as it is, but getting rid of the option to have the sidebar just made me crazy, mad and insane.

Well, this has degenerated into something of a belligerent slanging match, with a large measure of intellectual one-upmanship thrown in!!

Whether Apple reads this is entirely up to them, not forum posters or their sentiments. If Apple choose to ignore free feedback from their customers, so be it. Ultimately, if application updates prove to be largely unwelcome, the choices are simple. Give users options they like or lose touch with a loyal customer base by imposing change where it is unwelcome.

As for me, I had hoped to discover a means to keep my iTunes display as it was, not to stir up a hornets nest. Seems some posters are forgetting the point of a forum, namely a place where people can share information, tips and opinions, politely and intelligently. Different viewpoints and outlooks are inevitable.

Thank you for your time people. I'll leave you to it and may he/she with the most points prosper!

Well, I'm sure Apple gets in touch with lots of new talented developers from this forum. Their youngest brother is 13 years old. If you have some good arguments, ranting is okay, but you have to give a clear example how something could work more easily or more efficiently.

Erasing postings as Apple does very often is a clear sign of "weakness".

Well, I guess if a "solution" is ever found, I won't be seeing it here. All the non-essential banter has been good in that it has enabled me to find the "Stop Following this Discussion" link. I post this finding as a suggestion for anyone else tired of all the ranting and insults. I'm getting WAY to many useless emails from this discussion. When logged into Apple Support Communities, go to Activity > All Activity and find the offending posting (in this case originally posted by Zanaelf. Right under the first couple of lines you'll find the "Stop following this discussion" link. Press on!

I'm not entirely happy with the new iTunes either, but I've learned to use it. My advice for all the people that don't want change: DON'T UPGRADE YOUR SOFTWARE. Don't leave Snow Leopard until your computer gives up its last CPU cycle. I don't think the employees at Apple are purposely trying to mess with your minds. They are trying to improve the functioning of the software which requires making it different from what it was. Sometimes this requires the user to relearn things and adjust. If you're not into the trip, don't start the car. Stick with what you're comfortable with. I personally don't want innovation in software design to be limited because some people don't want to learn new things. Don't blame Apple for trying to innovate, blame yourselves for thinking the "innovations" might actually be improvements.

The loss of WiFi updates to i"devices" is a huge loss as well as the entire Widows interface, flat and lifelessness. brought to us as of course a free unwanted update without any real explanation of the loss of existing functionality

When I purchased my MacPro Plus (17") for the crazy price I paid at the time I could rely on 2 things Apple hardware is superior to anything out there and Apple software is solid and it delivers without the hunt and search-ability of other OS providers.

While the hardware continues to hold it's own the software is greatly lacking in usability, and NO the Ribbon is not a good replacement for the sidebar nor does it have the same functionality, it is childish and nonsensical and has no usability, i"devices" no longer show up unless the are tethered, it is plain WRONG to remove functionality it should always be an option.

Sorry but I cannot agree with that. As has been mentioned, anyone who signs up to post in these forums agrees to its terms of use, one of which specifically states that ranting is not allowed. Apple has every right to remove posts that are rants because every single person who has posted anything here has explicitly given them that right.

Beyond that, many of us invest considerable time & effort trying to help each other solve problems, expand our knowledge, & find new or better ways of doing things with our Apple products. Having to wade through a bunch of rants to do that just wastes our time, time that otherwise would be used to help those looking for it.

In some way I agree with alternative, that the energy put in to review unhappy or posts that express frustration on obvious issues of what is wrong with something , gets noted for improvements to software issues rather than just rolling out censorship. This planet is bogged down by censorship, I cannot comprehend, it even reaches the point that censorship is not noted as censorship. I now renounce this planet to be named planet censorship. Weclome, this is planet censorship, its the third one from the star which we now call TOS. Simply Apple has made some bright ideas for iTunes and Yosemite , but the problem is, these changes has reduced the functionality of these software items, all for idea of cutting and hiding functions, which to me worked perfectly in the past. I simply don't get it neither do I understand it. It blows my mind, and sends me on the fruit loop where I end up panicking, falling in anxiety attacks, and my anger management goes out the backdoor.

I won't rant, but I will note that I just updated to iTunes 12 (on Mavericks) and couldn't get my sidebar back. I tried to figure it out from the UI and couldn't - that's a bad sign; I've been using Macs for decades. I did a google search and found out what to do. I sent Apple feedback that I'm really upset that an upgrade wiped out my preferrred UI.

I hope someone at Apple is reading this - this yet another software problem that is drip by drip eroding my love for their products.

From what I can tell (and I'm included) a lot of loyal iTunes users do not like losing the side bar. Apple knew this from when they tried to coax people into not using it in version 11 by turning it off by default. Now they take it out completely. Apple has a large enough base of people using their electronics that have no other choice but to continue using iTunes whether they like it or not. Apple's silence on this topic says it all. THEY DON'T CARE! They must have saved dollars by eliminating the sidebar. It's that simple. Apple cares only about money and will do whatever they have to to maximize returns. The only vote you have is with your dollars.Do not spend anymore money on iTunes until the sidebar is restored. It's that simple people.

That will definitely get their attention! I started disliking itunes at version 11, they're turning it into a big funnel to spend money at their profit centers, yet it's the place you have to go to sync your phone so you have no choice but be prodded. Good opportunity for a 3rd party developer to come up with something better!

Where is option to have side bar in iTunes 12 ?
