Where is option to have side bar in iTunes 12 ?

Since, 11 iTunes has been disabling my option of having the sidebar... which is annoying... but now I cant find the option to have it again... since I found this better and easier to use than that ribbon of silly icons... It is a pain in the neck dragging a song to my iPod, in its specific playlist(still don't know how to do it properly in this new version) ... This is why I had the side bar, it was constant to the GUI design of Finder...

Please enable the option to have iTunes sidebar again... the flat GUI is irritating as it is, but getting rid of the option to have the sidebar just made me crazy, mad and insane.

I Too am getting very upset with Apple's latest Bungles. I was thinking of getting an iPad Mini, now not so much. Actually not. Apple is fast moving down-hill in my estimation, perhaps I will just pass on future Apple products for now. However, I'll check back from time to time and if I see they've rectified things, perhaps I'll return................Bye Bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry guys, but Apple will not change this back. They just won't, and no amount of complaining about it will change the fact that you are now stuck with the interface in iTunes 12. I don't care for it either.

I've been on these forums plenty of times complaining about something that changed in Snow Leopard and something they removed from iMovie and something that used to work with adding Macs to a corporate network but now doesn't.

Its not about Apple listening to their customers. Apple doesn't do that, and I'm not trying to be rip on Apple by saying that. It's just not part of the way they develop software. They pick a direction and go full speed in that direction and they don't look back.

You may be able to downgrade to the v11 but eventually there will be some iOS update that requires you to upgrade iTunes to install it. My advice is to get used to the new iTunes because we're all stuck with it. Or, speak with your wallet and remember this frustration the next time your iPhone contract is up, and get a different device.

Thanks for the answer, but this is by far the most idiotic setup I've seen yet. The Playlists tab contains all my music, playlists, and options, while the My Music tab simply shows my music, making it completely pointless. Why don't they just call the Playlists tab "My Music," and get rid of the current My Music tab? They could also throw a little color back into iTunes. The newest version has too much white.

I find it hard to think they are so undemocratic as to ignore people who may make up 80%+ of their users.
It is so awful, I will not be using it anymore! Only to feed Ipods with, that is all!
It still 'jumps' back to the top of the list when you add a music file or two. I think it is SO bad (I am not a complainer - but they have wasted months of my life in the past, no exaggeration!).

This thread is not monitored by any software engineer at Apple.

They won't read any of these complaints nor will they make any changes to their software. Other than venting your frustration, posting here won't make them "fix' itunes 12.1 or 13 or 14. Apple doesn't do that- they make a change and they stick with it without ever reverting back to anything, no matter who complains or how many threads and replies this topic gets.

You may find a way to roll back to iTunes 11 so you can see the GUI the way you want to, but its only a matter of time before iOS 8.1 or something comes out that REQUIRES you to be on iTunes 12 before you can ever run the upgrade. Then you'll have no choice - accept the iTunes 12 interface, or keep your device without features.

This thread mine as well be closed because it's just people saying "Me Too!" and it will never, ever make any difference to any release of itunes in the future. Apple doesn't work that way. What YOU want is not part of what they develop. Again I'm not trying to be mean to Apple. Years of seeing how they operate tells me without a shadow of a doubt they whatever you complain about, they won't change because they have a singular focus and they obtain that focus regardless of who complains or how loudly. The only exception I can think about was the bumpergate of the iPhone 4 and corporate even told them flat out not to give in and offer bumpers regardless of the millions of people reporting the problem. If you think you can make a forum post about iTunes 12 and some GUI side panel issue that'll change the way they program their software, you're sadly mistaken. I hate it too but it's the way Apple is.

I'm sorry but you're stuck with it. There's no way around it.

They may fix bugs in the GUI behavior but in the end you're still using the same interface. If you don't like it, don't post here and complain.

If you are really dedicated to trying to get Apple to change their policy about not involving the community when they make changes to any of their products, the only way you can make a difference is to NOT buy Apple products in the future. Speak with your wallet. It's the only way Apple will change.
