Unable to Access Applications Folder After Upgrade to Yosemite

After upgrading to Yosemite, WiFi connection became very sluggish. The Applications folder becomes unaccessible. When attempting to open the folder, the grey spinning circle appears at the bottom right corner indefinitely.

Already tried repairing permissions and repairing disk.

Anyone has the same problem?

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10)

I nearly have the same problem.

When I open my Application directory its shown totally emty - even the application directorys that I have in my time machine backups from the last days before I upgraded are shown empty.
The programms itself are there and running - the ones I have in my dock - all others I dont see and cannot use :-(

This same thing seems to be happening to me as well. I notice that the Dock as well as finder are using a lot of cpu, and the finder seems to hang when browsing the /Applications folder.

I have dropbox finder integration enabled, I've tried disabling that, and restarting finder, but no joy.

If I restart finder and browse one or two directories before attempting to browse /Applications, those directories I had browsed still list files when switching back, but all directories not yet browsed hang as well.

I can open programs, but only by opening terminal and using the open command on the application directory. Spotlight does not seem to be updating links to the new Applications, so if I try and open System Preferences using spotlight search I get an error about versions and it seems to be attempting to open the Mavericks compiled system preferences app.

I'm guessing either something is wrong with the finder preview methods or one of the applications in /Applications is not behaving well with the new finder callbacks? Has anyone seen and resolved this?

Another interesting note:

My Dock had a shortcut to /Applications and ~/Documents. ~/Documents renders on click and shows a list of files, but /Applications shows nothing. I removed /Applications from the Dock and restarted the Dock process (killed Dock, and let it inittab restart or whatever) The Dock is no longer using 100% CPU and seems to have calmed down the system fans as a result.

I think the problem seems to be in the Finder rendering /Applications

Tell me if you are seeing the same thing and I'll post a listing of my /Applications directory and let's see what we have in common.

I may just move the whole thing away and add one app at a time back until the problem happens again. Pretty sure that won't be too badly noticed by the running programs, or maybe I will leave those in place.
