Printing on Yosemite is anyone haveing problems?

II've done the install of Yosemit, but I'm now unable to print on either of my printers, all the software for the printers are uptodate, just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and how did you rectify it?

many thanks

Was using an HP p2015 laser printer on wired network .. Which is fast and reliable but is an older model. When I upgraded from Mavericks it just stop working ...it did not need an HP driver to run on Mavericks .. It just saw it on the network and automatically loaded the appropriate drivers, printer is working fine from my Windows machines and android tablets, So it's not the printer...... HP does not show any driver available for anything newer than 10.6.....

There are printer issues all over the Internet about Yosemite. Is it the user in all these cases or is it apple's screwup? This isn't the Windows 3.1 era, printer drivers should not be this big of a deal

Just had a long talk with the people at Samsung. They have new firmware for most of their printers. My M2870 laser now works with OS 8.1. However, they still do not have an answer for Yosemite. According to the rep I talked to, there will probably be new drivers coming out, but no word on when as yet.I told them my main concern was that they realized there is a problem and that they are working on it. With regard to OS 8.1, my iPads take about 30 seconds before they start to print as compared to three seconds with 7.1 I guess we'll just have to keep checking the printer makers support sites for updates. What a mess.

Hello Everyone

I have just installed Yosemite and have since been unable to print on my Kodak ESP 5250. It appears to be accepted on the Kodak Homecenter in that it shows the ink levels but as soon as you print something it comes up with the message driver error. I have emailed Kodak about this and the reply is below-:

Thank you for your e-mail to Kodak and question about Kodak AIO Home Center software for your Macintosh Operating System 10.10.

From the description provided it appears that Yosemite is the latest version on Mac which is 10.10.

Our latest software is compatible up to MAC OS X 10.9.x, MAC OS X 10.8.x, MAC OS X 10.7.x, MACINTOSH OS X v10.6.x, MACINTOSH OS X v10.5.x

Note: We are currently experiencing a compatibility issue with the latest printer software (Kodak AiO Home Center) and Yosemite Operating System 10.10.

Our research and development team is working on it to fix the issue. Once we get any update from the concerned team, you will receive the update.

We really appreciate for your patience and understanding.

So if you're on Yosemite at present we have to wait for Kodak to issue a software update for it.

Hope this helps.

Joe

After updating to OS X Yosemite 10.10 my Canon MX 310 Series "all in one" prints and copies but does not scan. Everything worked fine before this update. I went to Canon and downloaded ICA driver 3.3.4. It still doesn't work. The message is "no camera or scanner detected". I can not use the scan button on the printer - or do a scan using Image Capture.

I am "adding" to your request for a "fix" or just an answer.

Last night, after upgrading I discovered that I could no longer duplex print under Yosemite. I have a Epson Workforce 840 multifunction. Didn't really look into the issue much until this evening when I found this post. When I read that restarting helped, I remembered that my apartment complex had a forced/mandatory power outage, which is nothing more than a forced restart on my Mac Mini. Lo and behold, my ability to duplex print is restored. So try a restart.
