I downloaded Yosemite. AppStore shows it is downloaded. I never received a request to do the install. I can't find an installer. There is no sign whatsoever that is on my computer. However, I can not re-download it as it is already downloaded.

The installer is in Finder, Applications as OS X Yosemite Installer…it is 5.16 GB. Did it install on its own? If not, click the installer and it will open and begin.
This happened to me last night. I expanded the Yosemite update and it gave me the option to download again, downloaded to my Launchpad and I was able to launch it again.
There is no installer. About This Mac shows 10.9.5, so it looks like nothing was installed. In aPpStore it says I have 4 incompatible upgrades, so I assume nothing happened. I will try again.
That sounds like something went wrong in the download. Go to App Store, Purchases and see if it shows OS X Yosemite and if there is a Resume button to the right side of the window. If not try downloading again. The download should be going to Finder, Applications and appear as OS X Yosemite Installer.
Did you have an older, beta installers saved elsewhere? The App Store will search for applications on any connected disk and will invariably update the one you don't want updated. It is best to make sure all external drives and non-boot partitions are disconnected before even running the App Store.
Same issue here. I went through the app store process. Machine rebooted, but still on 10.9.5. I manually re-ran the "Install OS X Yosemite.app" installer in the Applications folder. I've also tried redownloading the installer from the app store. Same deal...
No betas. I am trying again from scratch.
I deleted the "Install OS X Yosemite.app" file and redownloaded it from the app store. Same result.
Is it probably in the Applications folder? Mavericks was there I haven't checked on Yosemite.

I downloaded it twice and it told me it was going to install it, but never did. I just now found it as an app at:
Finder > Applications > "Install OS X Yosemite"

Downloaded update but nothing happened
found installer in applicactions folder.
clicked it but the icon appears in the dock and then immediately closes
trashed the installer and redownloaded.
found the installer and tried to open again, but had same issue.
I don't know where to go now :-(
I have the same issue. I have downloaded the updater twice and it never launches either from the app store or when I double click on it in the apps folder.
Strangely, my iTunes icon did change color to red according to the new color scheme in Yosemite.
I have done disc permission repair and verify. Looks like a bug in Yosmite installer to me.
I had the same issue, it says downloaded but nothing happen then i went to application folder, i found OSX Yosemite download icon in grey, i click the X on the above left corner and choose continue to download, and it start to downloading.
I downloaded Yosemite and that's it. No request to install. AppStore shows Yosemite downloaded.
