Share button in Yosemite Safari not working, showing "No Service"
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)
What does
System Preferences > Extensions > Share Menu
look like?
Try deleting:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.preferences.extensions.ShareMenu.plistI have exactly the same problem. Share button have "no service" in both Safari and Finder.
I upgraded from latest Mavericks to Yosemite.
That seems like a great solution... Except it doesn't work.
Also the System Preferences Extensions Sharing Doesn't show "Share menu" as a something to explore.
-I upgraded from 10.9.x (not the preview.)
-It is a user specific issue, and only affects my primary user. Other uses are un affected.
-I tried removing all preferences, logging out, logging back in, and the issue still persists. (So it is more than just the preference folder.)
-Interestingly, I also don't have as many options in the Notifications Center when I click the Edit button at the bottom.
Can you do that again with a restart instead?
-I tried removing all preferences, logging out, logging back in, and the issue still persists.
-removed all preferences.
-Restarted
-logged back in (and setup icloud/itunes account)
-issue persists.
Then I moved preferences back (not replacing) and also copied the dock/sidebar preferences back. (except that the dock didn't revert.)
Try what solved my general problems (keyboard shortcuts, save dialogs…).
You need a second admin user. Then in your account:
that is how mine looks like as well.
I've got mine working ...
I went to :
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ShareKit.framework/Versions/A/PlugIns/
Clicked on each plugin in turn, opening with the Widget Simulator ignoring the error message and they were all appearing in the menus, both in the System Preferences > Extensions and the Safari Share Menu. I've restarted and they are all still there and yes, I tried the Facebook one and it worked
Exactly the same for me - full upgrade not from the beta; all sharing options / notifications report 'No Service'. 😕
Thank you very much for the tip. My empty share button problem is solved.
thanks!
This looks like a specific user problem. My share button shows no service but if I create a new user it works perfectly. Clearly something to do with existing accounts being migrated into Yosemite OS. A fix would be helpful from Apple............
Guys, after the notification center and share button problem, now I realized that I don't have access to markup in mail. The ACTION section in Preferences>Extensions is missing! Do you have the same issue? Any suggestion?
Where is the Widget Simulator ? Because when i click on an plugin in this files /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ShareKit.framework/Versions/A/PlugIns/
i was directly redirect into this plugin...
So i test to replace all plugin in this files with old (from public beta) and nothing again...
Hi - please assist -
What is a widget simulator? When I navigate to the folder you mention, there are several odd files for weird things I've never seen before (like Youku and Sina Wei-something (?)), but clicking on them just opens a terminal window.
