Safari 8.0 rendering issues on Yosemite

My Safari looks like this after updating to Yosemite yesterday. Initial thought was it might be related to AdBlock -- but after uninstalling everything issue still persists.

rMBP late 2013 with OS X 10.10. Didn't have any issues on Mavericks, so don't think it's hardware related.

I have a new Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2012 - it seems it is only since upgrading to Yosemite has Safari been terrible. I thought at first it was my logic board or something serious and I was getting really annoyed with the help via the phone - I done a Pram reset - Smc reset - I think thats the name of it, done a safe boot - everything Apple has told me to do nothing has solved it - when these glitches appear if I move the window ie Safari they move with it so obviously thankfully it is only Safari - it happens very randomly and I cannot pin point what or why it happens - hopefully Apple address it with new update of Safari as it is very odd but Im so glad I aint the only one as trying to describe the issue to Apple on the phone they all say we have never heard or seen the problem before. Image attached is while waiting to speak to Apple Agent via Chat and it happened. What is weird is I do have a 27" Mac running Yosemite and no issue there or not that I have noted just yet - I am using my New Macbook Pro more though so maybe if I was on Mac for longer it might happen with that machine to I do not know...

Yup, I have the same problem. Bits of the screen turn black and a bunch of garbage covers the page that looks like thousands of tiny thumbnails. I had a call in with Apple and showed them a few screenshots and they couldn't figure it out. Its totally intermittent and they wanted me to make it happen on the spot. They gave me a case number, "reset" safari for me and cut me loose. I thought it was my graphics card but it doesn't happen in any other app. I tried all the fixes, including wiping my drive and doing a full reinstall of 10.10.1 and nothing. The one fix that seems to work is to use firefox.

I'm having the same issue on a MacBook Retina Pro 15 (late-2013)... Not sure if I should bring it in to the genius bar or not. One thing that I tried that seems to fix it is going into the Energy Saver panel and turning off the Automatic Graphics Switching option. Would like to not have to do this though as I know this will suck up more battery life...

Same problem here. I've been to the genius bar 3 times, called AppleCare around 10 times, and they finally replaced my Macbook. With a completely brand new Macbook, I'm still having the same problem. The only thing I can figure out it that on this new computer it started to happen after I installed Adobe Flash. Google Chrome works fine. I hope they fix the problem because it is very annoying to have to restart Safari multiple times a day.

I have the same issue too. My computer is a 2010 17in Macbook pro. I think the problem is the integrated Intel graphics paired with the cpu. I force my system to use the dedicated graphics by using gfxCardStatus and all the graphics issues disappear in Yosemite+safari. You could force the system to use the dedicated card if you run photoshop or illustrator. It takes a huge toll on the battery run time but other than that the computer seems to be a lot more stable. If you want to save some battery life, use gfxCardStatus and force it to use the integrated graphics and chrome (chrome automatically switches to dedicated graphics if left on default setting).

Had a similar issue. Just obtained an older (2010-built) MacBook Pro and sites including this apple support were rendering as an old-school HTML site with graphics all blacked out.

Solution: Adjust your Mac time zone/date. Especially after system update your clock might be off - that in itself will cause such issues.

After updating the clock settings - no issues...
