Bluetooth audio lag

I thought that my woes had finally been resolved with the update, as the lag seems to be (I'm not holding my breath) fixed! Then, low and behold, after simply toggling form one tab to another on Chrome, the most deafening white noise came blasting out of the speaker (Bose mini soundlink) It nearly made me soil myself, which at the age of 40 is not something I appreciate.

Surely Apple can get something fixed with this? It's gone on so long now, they have lost a lot of good will with me.

Well, I wonder if Apple is going to pay for the visits when I have to go see the doctor about my hearing loss. There is no rhyme or reason to it, which is frustrating on its own.

Just now I was listening to an audiobook on iTunes and someone logged into Skype and BAM. White noise and pain. It's like a new torture device. I never know when to expect it.

Come to think about it, Apple may have to pay for my psychiatric visits, too...

I have the same problem in a Mac Mini Late 2009, and with Sony MDR-10RBT Bluetooth Wireless Headphones.

I have just bought them to be able to watch movies and listening to music without cables and it seems to work badly.

I've a second of lag when i either close iTunes or a YouTube tab.

The strange is that the problem come and goes, so its difficult to find the cause. I forgot to mention that I am beta testing the latest version 10.10.3 (14D113c), but I had it from version 10.10.2

Bluetooth speaker works when first connected. second time not.

First time connected open audio settings and the connection *****... close audio settings and the connection works again...

WHY??

I am currently using a Beats Pill Plus connected to my Macbook pro. I have been having this 2 second delay problem with Beats Pill since day one. I tried connecting it with many devices and the delay was always there. But, since I only use my Beats Pill for blasting loud music, I never really thought about solving this problem. I would always switch to my Sony XB950-BT for YouTube videos and movies.

Recently, it seems like bluetooth audio delay is becoming a problem for many people, so I went online to look up this issue again in hope of that there would be some updated solution for this conundrum.

So I just tried the method you suggested and I'm NOT making this up: the delay was reduced from 2 seconds to about 0.5 second. Still can't watch videos tho. But it's certainly nice to learn some tricks about system reset.😁

Looks like what started with Yosemite in 2014 is still there. Ridiculously ignored issue by Apple.

Mac mini 2012 running El Capitan 10.11.6. Tried multiple bluetooth audio devices. Issue persists. Has anyone checked how it is in Sierra?

Same thing here, 2015 MBP running on Yosemite. It is really annoying, since it forces me to use audio cable again and makes the bluetooth speaking worthless. I don't think it is a hard problem to fix. Just want this issue to be noticed by Apple Support Team.

I have the same problem. MacBook Pro Mid 2009 + Bose Soundlink Speaker. SO ANNOYING! I thought Apple loves music! That constant lagging and stuttering makes me consider to go back to Mavericks 😟

I dont't get an endless beachball. My sound preferences work fine. But it stutters and lags nonetheless.

Same thing here. Panasonic SC-NE1 via Bluetooth, worked just fine with Mavericks and Mountain Lion. Delay builds over time, most noticeable for me watching movies in iTunes.
