Bluetooth audio lag

Just updated (17th.Oct.2014) to OS X Yosemite. Im having trouble with bluetooth connection. There is an audio lag on my bluetooth headphone which progressively gets worse. Im using Sony DR-BTN 200. Is there a temporary solution until they fix it?

P.S. I found others with similar issues as well. Ive tried re-pairing the connection to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

howanghk, that makes perfect sense. Somehow I never heard of renice and thought it was a typo at first glance!

Anyway, I ran the command, and the first minute is promising!! I can now pause and resume music instantly, and it seems good. I'll report back after some more use and testing. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

EDIT:: I'm an idiot and forgot I just switched to a hard cable an hour ago. I unfortunately have to take back my response.

Unfortunately I stupidly forgot I had just switched back to physical audio cable in frustration, so when I ran howanghk's suggested command, I then tested and things seemed good… but switching back to bluetooth, the problem remains. :-(

I understand, howanghk. And I am thankful for your suggestion and efforts. I need to do more testing to see how much it might improve as well. I just got super excited when I heard great audio right after running the command, forgetting I was using a wire.

One thing I was unsure of, when I was checking if the command actually worked (and ps -lp 854 (my pid, of course) showed it did work)… is I saw the process is apparently "sleeping" … while playing audio through bluetooth. Is that expected?

Couldn't update the firmware on my speaker because JBL Ampup app instantly crashes every time I try to open it so I thought I would run a few more tests before reporting back...and the result is:

JBL onbeat awake does not seem to work at all with my Mac Pro retina 2012, it has delay issue with the iPhone 5s and the iPad 3! I have 3 wireless bluetooth enabled speakers and everything seems to work fine for all devices no matter which one is connected to which, except for the JBL onbeat awake speaker. I think there might be a problem with the speaker itself rather than Apple software.

Edit: I powered off and restarted all devices, switched power source to ensure every device gets their own source of power! No luck still. It's a shame because the JBL speaker sounds the best of all the speakers I have.

`sudo killall coreaudiod` has been working for me. Admittedly, I haven't really looked into this daemon or why it fixes the issue. However, haven't noticed any adverse issues as a result of ending the process.

Thanks @jamesrt!

Edit - specs of affected machine: 15" Mid 2014 MBP Retina, 16GB, TB SSD on OS X 10.10.1.

I've "updated" to 10.10.2 once before and found that, while the lag was not as noticeable, the popping in audio transmitted via Bluetooth was even worse. I immediately used time machine to go back to Lion. Having a bit of faith, I "updated" again recently. Before, there were periods of time that the audio would pop and skip separated by others in which the audio sounded okay, just delayed. Now, the delay is not there, but the popping and skipping is nearly constant. This definitely isn't good enough for me. It seemed that the popping would reduce if the system volume was constantly being adjusted, but that may be a delusion. Anyway, having to adjust the system volume up and down just to get a steady stream of audio via Bluetooth is ridiculous. Still hoping for some new info and/or help with this problem.
