Bluetooth audio lag

Thank you. This method helped me. OS X 10.10.2. But I can say, that headset can disconnect 1-2 times in random interval, sound is good.

I have the same problem in a Mac Mini Late 2009, and with Sony MDR-10RBT Bluetooth Wireless Headphones.

I have just bought them to be able to watch movies and listening to music without cables and it seems to work badly.

I've a second of lag when i either close iTunes or a YouTube tab.

After a few days of no problems at all, the issue came back... I have no more words to say, this is a nightmare. I've buyed a five meters cable, goodbye bluetooth. I'm sick of all this.

Have this issue with OG 13-inch retina MBP ever since clean upgrade to Yosemite. Delay seems to increase with time device is connected. Had no issue prior to installing Yosemite from formatted HD.

Bluebuds bought at Apple store can no longer be used for video conferences while working remotely. Same symptoms can be observed with UE Boom bluetooth speakers and when connecting via bluetooth to Samsung stereo system. No issues with any of these devices when connecting from Nexus 5 or latest gen iPod touch.

I struggled with this for quite some time, and even contacted Apple Support with all the default suggested steps, to no avail.

It got to the point my bluetooth headphones wouldn't even pair or disappear from the list of bluetooth devices when I deleted them. So, I decided to try turning off the Wi-Fi and see if that allowed me to do anything else (they're both radio devices, after all... maybe there's a conflict?!) and, lo and behold, I could now pair my bluetooth headphones without any audio glitches, and they've been running fine for the last half hour. I'll keep them going and see if they go bad again.

I can confirm on restarting my Mac mini that the audio issue re-presents itself. However, after disabling and re-enabling the Wi-Fi, the problem disappears again for the entire session.

This pretty much confirms the Wi-Fi is the thing that's conflicting with Bluetooth. I will get a bug report off to Apple.

I was having the same issue. Major dropouts or lag.

I disabled handoff and bluetooth is working fine now.

It is under System Preferences->General->Allow Handoff....

Edit: Just checked, and handoff is already disabled on my Mac. I guess something else is at fault!

I saw someone suggest removing "Bluetooth PAN" from Networking. I did this and the issue delay appeared to have gone away. It is too soon to call it a fix as it is clear from responses on here that it is intermittent.

Yeah, daverstevens, I tried that too, but to no avail. The issue reoccurred right after reboot for me. The only solution I've found that temporarily works for each session is to disable the Wi-Fi after startup and allow the headset to pair. Once it is paired, I re-enable Wi-Fi and the problem goes away.

Try Deleting “com.apple.bluetooth.plist” and reboot, worked for me.

I've just deleted the “com.apple.bluetooth.plist” in Library\Preferences and rebooted, but still I have the audio lag.

Try this, although slightly bizarre - make sure you have a wired mouse or graphics tablet and Disconnect all devices on Bluetooth then re-connect your head-phone's or other Bluetooth device. I have the Apple Bluetooth Mouse, Trackpad and Keyboard, and the keyboard is the only device I can keep connected while using the Headphones. Other sequence to try would be re-delete Bluetooth.plist, then reboot and the afore-mentioned.

Thanks for your reply. We have the same peripheral configuration.

The strange is that the problem come and goes, so its difficult to find the cause. I forgot to mention that I am beta testing the latest version 10.10.3 (14D113c), but I had it from version 10.10.2

I have never had a bluetooth mouse or keyboard connected to my first gen 13 inch macbook pro retina and have been experiencing this ever since I installed Yosemite from a formatted HHD.
