Magic Trackpad non responsive on Yosemite
After upgrade to Yosemite the Magic Trackpad don't have the same response as ever had. Is it a driver issue that must be fixed?

I know you've posted your "answer" multiple times -- but this has NOT worked for me unfortunately. I am attempting to have my MacPro (recently "upgraded" to Yosemite) connect to my TrackPad for the first time. It will not. Both are new, it is not hardware related. I suspect it is Yosemite-related.
Does anyone have any useful suggestions?
Thanks!
A temporary solution as the issue returns. This is most definitely a bug; a very annoying bug. Two thumbs down.
I have the same problem with an Magic Mouse on an iMac (Late 2012) since Yosemite 10.10.1; it seems to occur after one or more wake-ups from standby. After rebooting, everything is fine most of the time only to then again start to jump when trying to scroll by mouse (scrolling via scrollbar works fine).
Hi,
I also have a problem with apple magic trackpad! I have a Mac Mini (2012) and Macbook Air 13 "(2014), both I installed Mac OS X Yosemite. Trackpad goes to pair, but does not work correctly! Apple please fix this!
Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried all recommendations and none worked. It looks like waiting for a software update is the only solution to ever be able to use my system again.
Yosemite 10.10.1 (14B25) on an iMac13,2
Trackpad info is:
Manufacturer: Apple (0x3, 0x31C)
Battery level: 33%
Firmware version: 0x0160
Vendor ID: 0x05AC
Product ID: 0x30E
Class of Device: 0x05 0x25 0x2594
In the meantime, my system is completely unusable.
Using iPhoto seems to trigger the problem. I wonder if that's common to other people's experience.
This issue doesn't really sound "fixed" to me. I ran into this problem many times and it happened a few minutes ago. I'm using a MacBook Air 2012 on Yosemite. I have Boot Camp with Win7. My network runs on a AirPort Extreme (5th gen) broadcasting pure N-speed signal over 2.4MHz and 5MHz (no automatic switching...
I have a Apple's wireless keyboard and -obviously- a Magic Trackpad.
I sincerely hope Apple will fix this bug.
My next computer will be a small-form PC built for "casually-enthusiast" gamer. Mac OS is not as good as it should be. I'm more interested in Google than in Apple now.
The solution that worked for me is as follows:
1. Turn off the magic trackpad.
2. Turn the magic trackpad on and continue to hold the power button (do not release until paired).
3. The green light should be flashing quickly.
4. Use the trackpad on your Macbook Pro / Macbook Air or Mouse to hit the pair button in Bluetooth settings.
5. Wait for it to pair and release the power button.
Prior to this I has reset the PRAM based on another recommendation but this did not work. I suspect holding the power button enabled the Magic Trackpad to go into pairing mode.
Unfortunately many of us are still seeing this on 10.10.2 beta seed releases and it is something we've been crying about for a very long time. The problem just won't go away. Mac Pro with Magic Trackpad.
1. Removed magic pad from bluetooth devices list in system preferences.
2. Removed batteries and inserted again, turned on.
3. Magic pad appeared in the list automatically.
4. Paired (from another mac, connected via scree share).
After that magic pad seem to be working with no issues.
I'm on a 2011 MacBook Pro (8,3) running 10.10.1.
This just happened to me, minutes ago:
I woke my macbook pro up from sleeping and the internal trackpad was working. Then, inexplicably, I lost left-click, still had right-click. This was the case with the internal trackpad, external wireless usb mouse, and an apple magic mouse.
I turned Bluetooth off, and magically left-click is back across the board.
Guess there's something wonky with the the bluetooth driver or bluetooth radio.
So, I guess the only permanent fix is to turn bluetooth off.
(S)ucks.
Hope they fix this soon.
Experiencing the same issue.
I experience it especially when I'm downloading a significant amount of files, streaming video in Safari or using high-CPU usage software. Not sure if its connectivity or resource driven.
BTW, shutting off your trackpad/restarting your computer is not a solution. It resets the trackpad-comuputer connection but the problem comes back. A solution is when the problem goes away entirely.
Same here. Click works fine but touch sensitive area is unresponsive. Used to almost work but it got worst and now it's not moving at all.
Just spent two days fixing iTunes Match problems with iTunes library incoherences. Not impressed.
I also have a similar problem. I upgraded my iMac to Yosemite some weeks ago and since the last three days I can't scroll down neither with my trackpad or my keyboard. Not only it's annoying but I can't do anything with my computer. I've tried the solution that's been written here:
- REMOVE the Magic TrackPad from the BLUETOOTH list (at bluetooth preferences).
- TURN OFF everything
- TURN ON
- PAIR the MagicTrackPad AGAIN
It worked at first, but when I restarted my computer it happened again. I reppeated the same action and it worked. But after some restarts this solution doesn't work anymore. I have to turn off bluetooth and use my wacom tablet if I want to use my computer.
I really hope they fix the bug, I'm super disappointed!
I figured out that, when turning off FileVault on Yosemite my trackpad works fine. With FileVault turned on it is not useable the most time.
