I spent 10+ hours downloading it yesterday for my Macbook. I'm not trying to go through all that again for my iMac, I just want to spend 2 minutes copying the upgrade file to my iMac and start installing. Where would I find this file/s?

Did you install Yosemite (if you did the file has been deleted) if you didn't it's in your Applications folder)
FYI, I downloaded it 1 hour ago, took 26 minutes.
Choose Applications from the Finder's Go menu and see if the installer's there. If not, it's been deleted and you basically need to download it again.

If it indeed has been deleted after the install, as was the situation in my case. Then goto the Appstore, find OSX Yosemite and click download. It will then reappear in your Applications folder which you can keep as an ISO file.
Can it be anywhere else? Mine got to 5.16gb of 5.16 and I can see the HD has used 5GB but I don't see it anywhere...just get "an error has occurred" with that NSInternalInconsistencyException" pop-up
@Sammy_Herring Blah, yes I did already install it and when I tried what you suggested, it started to download the entire file all over again.

It does not download as an ISO, it's a dmg and you can save it anywhere you want.
Ever since Lion, the process of installation of the internet download Mac OS X versions has been to download to the Applications folder, run the installer, and in the final steps, the installer deletes itself. You cannot just click the app store and have it reappear. You must download all 5.16 GB of it again by going to the Purchases tab.
If you want to save a copy, after it downloads copy to a flash drive of at least 8 GB. You can prevent it from installing by going to System Preferences, App Store, and uncheck the auto install boxes:
Ralph, it never installs automatically, never did. Those buttons have no effect. When it is downloaded a screen appears with a button marked Install. If you don't press the button it does not install.
Don't run the installer after it's downloaded. Quit out of it and the stub will remain on your HD.

It has always auto-installed on my machine...instead of trying to catch it I unchecked the install box and then I have to manually start the installation. From Lion through Yosemite that has worked for me. I also stop the installation when it restarts as I use a different Startup Disk assignment than the installers like to see so need to redirect the installer to the right disk.
@Csound1 Suddenlink is a terrible ISP so it bounced back and forth from an expected 1-5 days to download. I was happy it only took about 10 hours.
There is no "App Store" in System Preferences in OS X 10.8.5, there is an "Software Update" preference which is the App Store's.
I installed Yosemite on a second HD, and just tried to install it on a third and the App Store claimed OS X Yosemite was "Downloaded" and wouldn't let me download it again. I finally just did a spotlight search and turns out it was on my HD already. The installer landed in the Applications folder and is called "Install OS X Yosemite".
