Problem with updating Itunes 12.0.1

The app store says I need to update itunes but I am already running version 12.0.1. When I go to look for updates in Itunes it tells me I am running the most current version (12.0.1). The app store however continues to have it under available updates. When I click on it to update in the app store it starts and after about 3 seconds it stops, the update button can be clicked again, but under update history it shows that I have updated and installed Itunes 12.0.1. It's probably listed in my history about 5 times now. I don't doubt that I do have the latest version but how can I get the app store to recognize that I do not need to update it? Also, I have tried restarting my computer a couple different times now.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10)

I have the same problem except that I have iTunes 12.0.0.140 (according to Get Info. If I run iTunes and check About iTunes, it says it is 12.0.0.

Either way, I tried a number of times to update and it kept stopping after a minute or so. Currently, it is at 85MB of 218MB (a record) so I am waiting to se what happens.

Also, after I had installed Yosemite, all my iLife and iWork applications needed updating and some of the UPDATE buttons in AppStore were flashing off and on whilst others weren't - I haven't seen that happen before and wonder if App Store has a few bugs.

Before I hit the button, I'll just say that iTunes is now 117MB of 218MB.

Same issue here, the update of iTunes12.0.0 to 12.0.1 doen't work. It is completely downloaded, but the Update stays the same. Bug in iTunes or in Yosemite?

Those of us in "user land" would appreciate a confirmation that you know there's an issue.

iTunes update 12.0.2, perhaps?

I' ve updated OS X to yosemite on both my mac mini desktop & my macbook air, and downloaded the 11 App Store software updates & its just the iTunes 12.0.0 to 12.0.1 update on my macbook thats glitching, showing as an update (1) on the app store icon in the dock & behaving exactly like other apple laptop users have described. iTunes on my desktop has updated along with the OS X update in general.

Solution as follows - download latest version of iTunes from the Apple.com site, it installs, updates & resets the app store
