"Missing Operating system_ " After installing Yosemite
MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10)
MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10)
After going through that and doing it, it says requested system device cannot be found. Should I export and create a new BCD then?
I tried exporting the BCD, but it says the store export operation failed. Also, when I try the third command (attrib bcd -s -h -r) it says there is no file - bcd. Also, when I try entering cd boot, it says it cant find the specified file location or something. What do I do now?
There is program called EasyBCD, which has a free version for personal use. Please see http://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/ . This may be able to help you recover Windows. Please ensure you have a good OS X backup.
But I cant use it because its an exe and I cant use my Windows partition
EasyBCD is also offered as a bootable device.
Sorry for my naïvety, but what is a bootable device?
EasyBCD allows you to create a physical CD/DVD or USB which can be used as a boot device to boot from, in cases where the internal disk OS is corrupted and requires repairs.
When I downloaded it, it downloaded as exe, and there doesn't seem to be any OS X option. What do I do?
Also, sorry for asking so many questions. It just feels safer when some more knowledgeable tells you what to do.
If you have access to a Windows PC, please download the bootable version, burn a CD/DVD or a USB and use it to boot from.
After not being able to use EasyBCD, I've decided to just backup all my important stuff from my BOOTCAMP partition and reinstall windows. Thank you so much for all your help!
