I think that Apple states that Windows may be installed on the Retina 5K, but will there be a problem with drivers?
More importantly, will Windows drivers be in conflict with Apple's proprietary Timing Controller they've announced for this computer?
I received a 5k retina iMac today and immediately setup Windows 8.1 using the built in Bootcamp process. NO snags installing, NO driver/exclamation marks, NO lockups. Audio, Bluetooth (kb/mouse) and Network (wired/wireless) works in Win 8.1.
BOTH operating systems have the same HUGE (for me!) issue. **No 5k resolution option, so I cannot maximize the real estate**
OSX:
Windows: Allows for a native resolution setting of 4k 3840x2160.
Updating the ATI catalyst software pack from the version shipped to the latest October beta had no effect.

No, Bootcamp does not u se the SSD.
A Custom install of OSX will let you do that. Please see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6564297 .

I have not tried with a Retina 5K Display, I'm currently in a MacBook Pro with Retina Display (Late 2013). Sorry 😟
There's no question that Boot Camp is a workable feature of Yosemite. The question is: Will there be display driver issues with windows in Boot Camp on a 5K iMac?

By the way, as the original post was about Boot Camp, I'm curious about how the Boot-Camp assistant carves out its partition on a Fusion Drive. Does it take any of the SSD portion away from OS X?

why not just hold down the option key in Yosemite Prefs/Display? Click on Scaled and it will give you all the resolutions, including true 5K.
Sure, I was just responding to the complaints that Apple somehow neglected to provide any way to access the true retina resolution.
