It works, but you need to install Legacy version of Java. As soon as you try to run, say, Photoshop, it tells you that you need to install that, and you click the "More Info" button (I think that's what it said) and it takes you directly to the web site that has the download. Download Java, install it, then CS5 runs just fine. No need for a Restart either.

Hope that helps.

Great response
do you think it is a legacy version or just one of the Java versions that Apple supports....which may be the same thing I don't know much about that

Is it a version older than what Apple recommends as I also have a new iMac 27" and I would be concerned about going backwards on Java versions on my new iMac and also on my Macbook Pro.....?

Is this confusing enough...Haaa

thank you fro taking the time to respond and I greatly appreciate your advice

Thank you
I have CS%
I have been using the Adobe products almost daily since the early 90's
You would not beleive how much money I have paid them over the years to keep my Adobe sutes update.
I will not give them any more money as I am ver happy with CS5 and their cloud software is not to be trusted.how it is for me
I am going to retire before I will give them another thin dime.....haaa

Thank you for your advice.

I am guessing that the actual CS%/ CS^ engine was not all that different so I am hoping I am good to go.t

What surprises me is that there is not more information on the SE's regarding Yosemite software compatibility
