Yosemite Driver for Canon LBP 2900

Hi there,

Now that Yosemite has been installed and working well, I am left with a non-functional Canon LBP2900. On Mavericks, it worked well with the patch but seems it doesn't carry across to the new OS. I have reset my printer settings and re-patched the system as per Mavericks but no joy.

Any tips? or lots of printers going into the bin!!!

Regards

Jafar

Hi

I did that and it worked but after I upgraded to 10.10.3 (14D136) on may 20th - it stopped working on my 2011 Imac. WIth the same drivers and the same patch but no upgrading Canon lpb2900 works on my boyfriend's mcbook air. WHat can I do (he dosen't let go of his machine)? I have erased all the former capt files and reinstalled the drivers and the patch. It pretends it is printing but never does and after a while it says that it took too long.

Please help me, you patient experts!

With the newest update of Yosemite to 10.10.4 the LBP Canon Printer again doesn't work ... I'm not sure, but this is getting annoying ... and canon as well doesn't have any link supporting Yosemite ...

Anyone has an idea ?

Hey Vaiidya,

Yup, I've solved the problem.

1. Delete your printer in Printers and scanners preferences anduninstall all the drivers what you have for LBP2900.

2. Restart computer.

3. Download and install the following driver (version 3.67 has just been released for Yosemite): http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100420705.html

4. Restart computer.

5. That's all...

I was confused when I saw my printer it's working perfectly ... but that's it ...

Good Luck 🙂

I am not terribly tech savvy and my IT assistants here are all unfamiliar with Macs. I have a MacBook Pro OSX 10.10.5 and a Canon LBP 2900. I have followed the above links and downloaded and installed as instructed, but the driver software can't be found. All I can see is a .dmg file of some 42MB. Perhaps I didn't uninstall something? How to do that? Or is there another patch required? I did delete the printer and restart each time as directed. Am running out of ideas and would welcome help. Many thanks!

saw in some where this solution !

1. Delete your printer in Printers and scanners preferences.

2. Restart computer.

3. Download and install the following driver Ver 3.85 which supports EL Capitan: http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100420705.html

4. Restart computer.

5. Download and install the patch from https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8657014/Driver/LBP2900/MAC/Yosemite/Canon%20 LBP2900%20patcher.dmg

6. Restart computer.

7. Connect the printer with USB, add the driver in Printers and scanners preferences, select the appropriate driver.

Hi there

Thanks a lot to illuzii. Now my printer works on my MAC

Looking for a way to install the LBP2900 on OS X El Capitan, I found this topic.

Wanted to undergo the risk to fallow illuzii suggested steps (El Capitan instead of Yosemite) and finally everything was good!

Just the link at step 3 let me download the latest version of Canon driver (3.86 instead of 3.67)

No problem with the patcher in step 5, even if it referred to previous OS X Mavericks

Thanks again

omg! omg! after trying 2 million things...this is the one that works! restarting 3 times is the key to success, as well as making sure there are no

other drivers left from old installs.

I bought the Canon 2920 not even thinking that it wouldnt work with my (pretty old by now) Yosemite 10.10.5, so wasted a lot of time

trying to install it by the Canon website.

Works perfectly now tho, thanks to the patches!

yay!

😁

I installed the driver for printing on the Canon LBP 2900 printer on the mac os capitan, I successfully printed it a couple of times, then I stopped - it's always takes problems, it does not work.

Now I can not completely delete it, the window "Accept" in the "CCPD" program always appears when the system starts.

How can I delete it?
