usb modem

hi,

Installed yosemite and it is wonderful. But i am experiencing some problems with my USB Modem.

I have a HUAWEI EC315 usb modem, it was working perfectly on older OS X but now it stopped working.

By doing some research i found that the driver of the modem is based on Apples Modem Script

The Huawei Moboile Connect - 3G Modem Script is based on Apple's Apple Internal 56K Modem (V.92) script Version 1.9.

And i also found this at http://www.macstrategy.com/article.php?127

The Apple USB Modem is not supported by Yosemite as the USB modem is a 32-bit device (and Yosemite is 64-bit)

Is there any way i can get my usb modem to work on Yosemite, other than waiting for the supplier to update the driver?

Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10)

I have the same modem and the same problem. My ZTE MF667 USB modem was working perfectly before I upgraded to OS X Yosemite, but now it does not respond. I consulted the technical assistance department of my mobile service provider for solution. They say Yosemite does not support modems with USB connection and that I have to get a modem which connects to my computer through WiFi. I hope Apple finds a way to fix this problem.

Hi

This post is for those Huawei dongle users.

I called Huawei and spoke to a service agent and the person I got through to was very helpful.

I accessed the firmware update at the official site: http://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=31145

The agent advised me to unpack the download with WinRar on a Windows computer and then access the unpacked files on my Mac.

I had tried using a Mac rar file unpackers that I downloaded through the App Store but they did not work.

My Huawei E303 works now for me.

Thanks.

For anyone else who comes across this thread...

For a Huawei E3131 dongle, what solved the problem for me (and yes, it did, completely) was downloading and installing "Mac-V200R003B015D11SP01C983(for Mac10.10)" from Huawei's site at:

http://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/products/downloads/e3131-en.htm

This installs "Mobile Partner", which worked. (OSX 10.10.5, MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
