Why is Yosemite showing a load bar when I boot up my Mac(s)?

So I upgraded my somewhat newer (late 2013 model) MacBook Pro Retina to "Yosemite" and it's flawless except for one little thing, a thing that is a BIGGER thing on my OLDER (mid 2011 model) Mac Mini. Here's the problem. This LOADING (PROGRESS) BAR:

On my MacBook Pro Retina I get it after my login... It takes maybe 5 seconds. It's no big bother or anything but it is a bit less classy and faster than before... As seen HERE: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10203308665013685&l=e27c3710e3

However, during the LENGTHY boot up process on my older Mac (the mid 2011 Mac Mini) I see the exact same loading bar -- except it takes a WHOLE LOT longer to pass by. Finally I'll be waiting for my top bar with the Apple logo in the left corner to load for about 30 seconds... This is reminiscent of the systray icons to load on a Windows 98+ era PC system... Boring and annoying to the user each time they have to boot up or even wake the Mac and login...

What gives?

I remember Macs booting up and loading instantaneously before on "Mavericks" and vice versa with OS X.

I think the issue is that previously the indicator was a revolving wheel, it had no endpoint it just went round. Now there is a bar, so there is an indicator of how much longer to occupy you while you wait, my Mac boots as fast as it always did, but staring at the bus bar makes it seem otherwise.

But I rarely turn it off anyway.

Please take away that loading-bar. It looks both bad and has increased booting time!

I installed two SSDs in Mac Mini Quad and I get like 5 secs longer booting time than before when I had boot on SSD + HDD (which naturally slows down booting by 5 secs)!

It has not increased the boot time, it's just a watched pot.

I don't time my boot up time, but the bar annoying. I look at it, because if I don't I'll ADD and forget I'm reloading my computer. That's just who I am. I'm just saying I don't like the bar. I preferred the spinny thing. I sort of wish there was an option in Yosemite for either the spinny thing or the bar. Because I feel like Tantalus with the grapes with this bar.

Well, it isn't as if I'm turning it on and off on a daily basis, or even an hourly basis, but I do have to turn it on and off occasionally for some things, and that's when I get irritated. But judging from this entire thread, it seems as if you're not on this thread to assist or even commiserate. It seems as if you are here just to argue for argument's sake.

It is completely normal. Its just that the more upgrades you have, the more storage used, therefore less RAM available for it to start up very fast. Yosemite is a pretty large bundle, and it sure can take a while to load. I have 3 computers and all start up with a loading bar. My oldest computer starts with a black background, and the rest with a white background.
