iMac not booting after upgrade to Yosemite

I find this so pathetic... we have 180 macs in our company and each time we do an upgrade the Yosemite macs are affected.

Surely we should get an official workaround from Apple?

And with the release of 10.10.3 and if theres no fix... come one- WE as Enterprises/ schools can't get messed around like this!

10.10.3 fixes the problem with AD-bound macs hanging at boot.

At least here (and a number of places that also had the same problem...)

I don't know if this thread is still active but this problem recently occurred (long after upgrading to Yosemite, but just after installing a new app and its driver) and have tried the Hotte suggestion bit the boot still hangs. If I do a verbose boot, the sequence goes past not finding BootCache and then just stops and goes no further. Any suggestions for something else to try?

ive had experiences wimath booting whilst holding "V" which worked.

But ive also separate experiences with holding "S" when booting.

Have you tried both, separately??

Hi Ace1193, thanks for the response. I have tried command S and command V separately and I've tried every suggestion I found on the net. Finally I tried the suggestion to re-install the OS and that worked, I was able to boot into Yosemite. However, I have not yet tried to reboot so whether that will work is yet to be discovered.

It is unbelievable that after 1 year neither this problem has been solved nor there is official information about it. I upgraded to Yosemite yesterday and your post saved my sanity. After trying to find a solution for hours I unplugged the Ethernet cable and it worked! Thank you so much!
