TThanks Niel. I recieved this message whIke trying to install so x yosemite software: the disk has S.M.A.R.T. Errors. The disk has a hardware problem that can't be repaired. Back up as much as possible and replace the disk".

Proceed as instructed. To back up your computer, use Time Machine or a product such as the Disk Utility, Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper to put the files on an external drive.
