My Kodak printer doesn't work with Yosemite

My wife and I share a Kodak ESP7250 printer connected with Wi-Fi. Since we upgraded to Yosemite, we haven't been able to print any documents.

I have gone to the printer utility and was able to print a test page.

But when I print a test item from Notes or text edit, the printer takes a long time, seemingly printing one line, waiting and then another line. Except the paper is blank, and the printer icon tells me that an unexpected error has occurred. I then open print the print utility which tells me that I don't have a connection.

I can shut everything down and repeat the steps above. The error my printer icon shows comes up before it laboriously prints the blank page.

I downloaded the Kodak utilities which tell me that my drivers are up to date.

I waited for the Kodak chat on its queue until it finally told me nobody was available, so maybe they know the trouble.

Did you get a reply? I didn't. It's disgusting. I want to get rid of this Yosemite as it does me know favours if I can't use my printer and I can't afford a new one. Why should we buy new printers when our old ones work perfectly? There was no warning of this happening when I updated it and I only update because 'that's what you're supposed to do!" Have you had any luck?

I posted earlier about my interaction with Kodak support on October 16, when Yosemite was first released. I implemented the workaround ("relaxed Sandboxing") and my iMac prints again. I'm holding off on upgrading my wife's MacBook Pro to Yosemite until Kodak provides an updated driver.

If you are not comfortable with breaking (or at least bending) Yosemite, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO IMPLEMENT THE WORKAROUND.

The good news relating to all this is that Kodak needs only to have their contractor(s) fix their installer -- the actual printing code works properly. The current Kodak installer places printer modules in locations that are no longer considered appropriate for print components.

Up front, I'm dumb about code, and the suggestions for workaround hurt my head. BUT, if the hieroglyphic workaround is known to work by Apple, what is stopping Apple from writing a fix and issuing it as an update for Apple customers who have had their printers stolen from them by Yosemite? BTW, 7250 AIO with the same insane problem. The suggestion to throw out our perfectly good printers is not a solution, it is arrogant and insulting.

The only immediate solution is to downgrade back to Mavericks , someone did that and it worked for them .I have the same problem with Yosemite 10.10.1

YES THE PROBLEM IS WITH YOSEMITE, So until a workround is available and Kodak pulls their finger out, you are stuck with everyone else, My printer is a

ESP 3250 so it dosent matter what printer you are using if you are with Yosemite its a no go. Downgrade and come back up when the problem is fixed.

Hope this helps

I did the relaxed sanding code and my printer will now print, however I can not photo print. I get a drop down menu for selecting 4x6, but when I try to print it just prints from the regular paper. It is close to Christmas and we usually do some photo printing, so if I can not get photo printing done will still be buying a new printer.

Is anybody else having this issue?
