Finder progress window missing

I'm not exactly sure what you call it, but I would imagine it's something like the progress window, the thing that pops up when you copy, move or replace items. Well, I have 2 users on my computer, and my wife's seems to be working fine, but my user is missing that window. User uploaded file

I would love to get it back, as it forces my Finder to have an issue, and will not shut down without force quitting Finder.

Also, Airdrop crashes the computer when trying to click on the folder from Finder.

I am having the same issues. File transfer info windows (time remaining, duplicate warnings etc.) won't pop up either so if I move a file that already exists in the new location I can't approve the overwrite. This is causing huge problems as I have to force quit Finder in order to shut down the computer. I also can't pull up the Finder toolbar customization window. It changes into edit mode in the window and you can remove tools but I can't see the window. It seems to be related to any system based pop up windows in Finder. I tried trashing my Finder preferences and restarting my computer. No luck.

I just ran into this problem after just upgrading today to Yosemite. I was copying a bunch of large (2 GB+) .vmdk and other files + three folders out of one of my VMWare Fusion into a separate folder. I noticed right away that the progress window didn't display, although each individual large file in the destination folder showed the progress indicators (I believe, in the Size column). After copying 7-8 of the files + folders the progress stopped. All of the files that have yet to be moved are represented by grayed-out entries, with the Size showing Zero bytes. However, the file copy progress stopped, with no indication of what is happening.

I then tried to initiate another copy of the remaining files. Finder didn't ask if I wanted to replace the existing files, keep both, etc. - it just automatically started creating separate copies of each file with a " 2" at the end of the file name. I cancelled that and went looking for an explanation.

I tried opening a separate finder window where I again started copying a few files. I got the progress bar, and an attempt to copy an existing file presented the Keep/Copy/Replace prompt.
