My iPhone 6 screen got cracked for no reason

While I was using my laptop while my iPhone on the table by my side, i hear this weird noise coming from my brand new iPhone 6. I look at my iPhone, and I see a crack on the screen. I have been very careful with my new iPhone 6. Never dropped it or tried to check if the sapphire glass of the screen is truly un-scrachable, which why I'm very mad.

Please I need a solution, other than paying for a new screen.

I got the insurance and they did not tell me there was a deductible of $179. Now I am almost have to pay full price.

If you paid $400, it must be a 128GB iPhone with 2 year commitment..

Full price for a 128GB iPhone is $849. $179 is nowhere near full price.

Have you taken it to an Apple store and asked about getting it replaced?

I paid $299 for a 64 phone with a 2 year contract. It added up to $407, with the full retail price tax of 87.00 plus Verizon charged $40 upgrade. The Verizon full coverage doesn't cover anything since I would have to pay nearly $200 12 days after I spent $407.

I took the phone to Verizon and they said they could not replace the phone. The guy at Verizon said that he personally had never seen a crack like this before. He said try going to the Apple store. They looked at the phone very carefully, got my info and didn't even ask to see the receipt. They immediately replaced the screen while I waited at no cost to me. Read into it what you want. I am very happy that I have a new phone that is not cracked. I am happy that they recognized the problem and did something about it without putting the blame on me. However, I do not feel that this phone is as hardy as my old iphone 4s.

Lol... Same thing just happened to me. I was texting and I hear this popping noise and there it was. A crack across the whole screen in the middle. And the reason why this is funny to me is because I had an apple appointment scheduled for tomorrow to see why my screen was showing yellow blemishes when the image is dark. Hooray for ruining my chances of getting the issue fixed for free ^.^ pay 800 bucks for a phone and now I gotta pay 100 for a screen if not more if the digitizer needs to be replaced.

I know this won't help with your current situation, but I've found using a tempered glass screen protector can help - I dropped my iPhone a couple of times and both times the screen protector smashed, but when I peeled it off the actual screen underneath was fine. They're certainly a lot cheaper than replacing the screen every time!

Please be aware though that these are just my own personal experiences of using these screen protectors and it won't 100% guarantee that your screen won't crack - but for the money its definitely a decent option.

Here is an update to my post and a response specifically to yours because we had a similar issue.

So luckily I had an appointment with apple ahead of time for the discoloration of the screen. In all honesty the hairline crack didn't bother me too much and I brought it to their attention right away. I told them that I did not care about the crack as much as I do about the discoloration. She informed me that ONE crack on the screen is covered under warranty(Made me think it is a standard issue on the i6 and i6+ to receive a single crack). I handed the phone over to her and she ran standard tests and checked for water damage. Everything checked out and she said they will replace my screen and digitizer while I wait. Of course, I agreed to that and she took my phone to the back. Not even a minute later she comes to me and tells me they cannot repair the screen. Why? Well, she laid the phone face down on the table and it would waddle from corner to corner. The phone literally warped itself. I don't wear skinny jeans, I don't keep my phone in my back pocket, as a matter of fact I rarely keep my phone in my pocket much at all. I'm probably on my phone 90% of the day because of business needs. But anyways, she said she seen a few cases where the phones metal expands and contracts because of turning hot then cold eventually what happens is either the screen pops off because it doesn't fit in the warped housing or the screen cracks. Well, in my case both things happened. End of it all, I walked out of apple with a new phone. Or, newly refurbished phone. So that was my situation.

TL:DR Screen cracked by itself. Took it to apple. They replaced my phone.
