I have the very same problem with a huawei 3131 hi-link modem,i have been in contact with huawei and they have told me to watch their website for any software upgrades for os x yosemite,at this present time there is none

I have a Huawei E3131 hi link too. I can get it to work on my Yosemite installation, albeit in a rather roundabout fashion.
so they way I get it to work is to boot into one of my other drives, either one with OS X 10.7 on or a 10.9 install, on both of these the Huawei
mounts and connects immediately when booted. Next change the start up disc to the Yosemite install, restart and the Huawei should now connect.

Found a very easy solution online. Just download the software here and install. works immediately.

Oh okay I see. Not really an expert on these things...haha but with mine I just went to settings there and made a "new profile", called it My Profile and put in "internet" below that. Creating that new profile made mine connect. But mine looks different from yours...its Hauwei page and opens in safari when I plug in the modem. But yours finds network etc, whereas initiall my problem was that Yosemite didn't pick up my modem...so not sure why yours is not working...sorry
Huawei software is crap software, badly programmed. Most of the time you do not need it, only for some Huawei sticks...
so it's possible to use this huawei e3276 without the huawei software?
For phones normally not;
for the mobile net stick: it worked without software for a friend of mine, but for several other friends it did not...
Try it.
Normally Huawei is very late updating their software.
