Can you send an audio message to a Android phone and will they be able to lisen to it?

Just wondering if I will be able to send audio messages to friends with Android phones.

I realize this is an old question, but I ran across it while searching for something else and thought I would make a suggestion. The best way to send an audio message to an Android user from your iPhone is using the Messenger app by Facebook. Alternatively, you could record a voice memo and send it as an attachment. I hope this helps someone. :-)

I don't believe this has ever not been possible.


MMS has supported audio for a long time now.

I don't believe you can record the messages from within the Message app, however. I believe the workaround would be to use Voice Memo as kaiphone6 suggested.

Seems odd it worked once and never more.


The recipient has been an Android user for a couple years now.
