Q: Report on the NEW iOS 8.1 Revision Today

I've been waiting for the iOS 8.1 revision today, as it contains some bug fixes and some NEW FEATURES added. It's out now, but I can't get to a WiFi spot just yet, as I'm running around. I'll be getting to it later today.

HOWEVER, please do let us know of some of your problems have been fixed or if there are some problems remaining. I hope this is going to help a lot of people today!

The two new items that I've been waiting for are "iCloud Photo Library" (in beta, though) and "iCloud Drive"!

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 8

I just did the iOS 8.1 from 8.0.2 on my iPad 3 WiFi (1:30 PM EST). No problems that I can see so far. I think iOS 8 slowed down web browsing using Chrome and Safari compared to 7. I never saw any problems with 8.0.1 but then my iPad 3 is WiFi-only.

Be sure to do a reset of your iPad or iPhone after doing the 8.1 update. Hold down the Home button then the power button, ignore the turn off the device thing and wait until the Apple logo shows up. Also to be sure you do an iCloud or iTunes backup of your device before doing the 8.1 update just in case.

Updated my Ipad air to 8.1, so far so good, was a very quick update too with no problems with the OTA system.

The update finished for me in less than 15 minutes, lock, stock and barrel. Everything seems fine. Only time will tell if the little bugs that users have been experiencing were fixed. My keyboard seems to be responding a little better now, but that could just be wishful thinking on my part.

My iPad 2 has been slow and jerky when selecting apps, keyboard has a mind of its own and I've been getting a 3-4 second long image of an app folder title (which ever is central on the screen)  since the iOS 8 update.

been waiting desperatly for this update in the hope that all this would be sorted .........result = no change what so ever and my once so smoothly scrolling super fast iPad is acting like some cheap old crockery PC trying to run win 8!

not happy apple this needs sorting

I was an outspoken critic of iOS 8, (including 8.0.1 and 8.0.2) specifically regarding the bugs affecting the iPad2, and the ineffective measures to correct those bugs (reset/restore, etc.). Having downloaded iOS 8.1 and having just started to go through my checklist of issues, I'm happy to report that several of my more frustrating bugs have been corrected (Safari freezes, super slow text box input and duplicate characters, keychain/password autofill not working). I'll provide a more comprehensive list later of resolved issues, but for now, I see progress and improvement.

Backups first, of course, then reset to factory default with your iTunes program, then when that's done ... I do believe that results in iOS 8.1 being cleanly installed, as a result. But, just check the update panel in the Settings to be sure. If it shows you're up to iOS 8.1 ... fine. If not, then do it right then.

My iPhone 6plus seems to be running faster than before. Still no luck way to change metrics in health app. New bug in health app not showing where data is pulled from just shows nothing....overall I'm happy as my phone is faster, just downloading on iPad 4.
