Hello,

i have same problems with ios 8.1 with my Ipad3. when the Google search shows me the results, the blue links does not respond when I tap. Safari was as if frozen. I have to drag the page up or down so that the link becomes active again. Further the application is very slow. Today I tried iPad Air it was same thing !!!!

the problem persists since updating iOS8.0.0. I am very disappointed with Apple.

Read the other terms including:

"Be polite. Everyone should feel comfortable reading Submissions and participating in discussions. Apple will not tolerate flames or other inappropriate statements, material, or links. Most often, a "flame" is simply a statement that is taunting and thus arbitrarily inflammatory. However, this also includes those which are libelous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, discriminatory, abusive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context."

AMazing how there is only 1 person in this community who fells like he can fix the issues with IOS 8, but there are hundreds who are still havin issues. If there were truly a fix there would be a lot more fixers. Come on 8.1.1. You had better be the solution we are needing!

please ignore any tyos, incorrect capitalizations, or blank spaces.. I am running IOS 8.

Here is an update.

If you look at a bunch of posts back you'll see that I actually sold my iPad 3 because of this issue and bought a Nexus 9 (Android).

Well although the tablet is great, there is still a lack of tablet optimized content for Android compared with Apple.

I decided to return the Nexus 9 and buy a shiny new iPad Air 2 which came with 8.1 out of the box and is super fast in every respect except for ... yes... you guessed it... SAFARI !!!

Safari still is super slow to open web pages most of the time, sometimes completely frezes, i can't click on any link or enter a new web site without closing and restarting safari.

The iPad has even completetly froze and needed a hard reset when switching from spotify to safari which had never happened on my iPad 3.

Unless i'm the unluckiest person on the planet, whoever says that these problems are isolated and affect only a small percentage of devices are full of sh.....

I now have to use chrome because safari doesn't work on my 760$CAD device.

Apple please fix this asap.

The problem is ... you don't get beyond this thread ... LOL ...

There are scores of people who have had no problem with iOS 8 and then there are scores of people who had some initial problems and then were able to implement various solutions and fix whatever problem they had and things are running fine now. My solutions are only a small part of the number of solutions that people here on this forum have used to solve their problems ... and even with mine being a small segment of solutions ... I've already had scores of people telling me, just about every day that they got their problem solved and they thanked me for it.

You should "get out a bit more often" ... :-) ...

I Have personally tested eight ios8.1 devices belonging to friends and family, some older devices, some brand new. Without exception, they all display the same issues of which we complain. If, as you claim, we are a tiny minority, this is the statistical equivalent of winning the lottery.

i had an email exchange some weeks ago with Apple support but they now do not respond.

Well Star Traveler, I have about $4000.00 worth of new iPhone 6's and iPad Air 2's I ordered directly from Apple.com. ALL OF THESE BRAND NEW DEVICES are experiencing the exact same slow / dropped internet problems everyone else on this forum is complaining of. Basically iOS 8.1 (and the previous versions of iOS 8) have turned my devices into high-priced trotline weights. They are useless. My wife and I have stopped using them (only using the iPhones for phone calls connected via Bluetooth to our cars).

Now, I am hopeful Apple fixes the many bugs which are clearly evident in their latest operating systems. If not, Apple will lose customers (remember the Blackberry). That's the bottom line.

I am very disappointed in Apple. The company seems to have gone downhill since Steve Jobs passed away. With hideous releases like iOS 8, you have to wonder if Apple is on its way out.

Agree or disagree, there is a problem. A widespread, serious problem. Pumping sunshine up Apple's skirt does not change the reality of the situation. Apple needs to fix the problems with their operating system or suffer the consequences. I, for one, am running out of patience.

FYI - I have to write this post on a Windows 8.1 system since my iPads and iPhones won't stay connected to the net long enough for me to post.

Question - who do I speak with at Apple about the cellular time I'm burning up when iOS 8.1 disconnects from the net and the AT&T LTE takes over?

SStar traveler (note the double entry letters...again), to what do you attribute your God-like ability to instantly know that only a "tiny portion" of all us iOS 8 users are having problems. You cosmic conciousness is amazing. We are in awe of your powers...especially since several of these threads have hundreds of thousands of viewers...who no doubt are coming here only to hear your soothing reassurances of Apple's infallibility.

FForgive my impudence (dang, there's that double leading letter again) Star Traveler, after my 4th attempt of following your magnificent corrective instructions, my iPad 2 STILL operates like something that a red-headed child of Bill Gates and Khloe Kardashian might have envisioned. Yes, my Lord, I will attempt a 5th reset/restore/chant/beg forgiveness process to return my humble iPad 2 to its former (iOS 7.1.2 glory).

Nov 10, 2014 8:02 PM in response to noremacniai

I Agree, it's a small percentage of us who really bring this issue up.

if something isn't done about this problem, Apple is on its way out.

i Have one client who just bought an oPad and she is very upset because of its bad performance and just wanted to trash it, literally throw it in the trash.

SHe had me set her up with a desktop Windows 7. She's happy.

I went to the Apple Store tonight and asked about the Safari problems. He acted like the problem was mine. He said the problem could be isolated to me.

i Told him that I was on the Apple site and there were lots of people having the same problem, he acted surprised.

The Apple people must be told to avoid this issue.
