User uploaded file

I have moved desktoppicture.db to Trash many times, emptied the trash, and restarted. I can open Desktop and Screensaver preferences for a few hours, maybe, but that file keeps reappearing! WHERE is it coming from? If I could isolate the app or website or process or whatever is putting it there, perhaps I could stop this from happening. At this point, it's kinda funny, but annoying as h*!!!

Thank you to neilfrombellevuefor the fix. I've updated it to shorten the steps:

  1. From the finder menu, Click "Go" > "Go to Folder..."
  2. Copy + paste this link exactly (Make sure to replace "username" with your user name): /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Dock
  3. You should see desktoppicture.db in the Dock folder
  4. Drag the desktoppicture.db to Trash
  5. Reboot and you should be Good-To-Go

****FIXED****

I had the same problem but mine is fixed now! No matter what i did i coulnd't get into screen preferences. Not even creating a new user helped. But then i found an article syaing that you should try booting in safe, and so i did. When i got into safe mode it was fixed! then i restartet and the problem was fixed also in normal bootup! I can now acces the screen settings without any problem!

Here's how to do:

1: reboot your computer from the  menu.

2: once your hear the bootup sound hold down the shift key and keep holding until you get to the login screen.

3: login to your user.

4:reboot again without holding any buttons down.

And there you go!

I hope this resolves others problem as well.

Lost Energy Saver Pref Pane, happened a few times recently, but always came back after a while.

This time, it didn't come back........ waited ages

I tried various methods, as mentioned on Apple webpages.....

El Capitan, this worked for me...

Click on System Preferences in Dock.

Head over to Menubar, QUIT System Preferences.

Again, Click on System Preferences in Dock.

Now it all works fine !!!
