Random Blue Screen Crash with 5S and iOS 8.1

A other problem just came up!

WIFi is greyed up, reboot hard reset, nothing helps!!

Also cellular conection is not reliable, battery drain also, and iPhone feeling abnormaly warm :-(

Got the blue screen of death with infini boot screen on my 5S 64 GB which is 3 months old since upgrading to IOS 8.1, bad release since it's an iPhone killer.

I put my phone in DFU mode and plugged it into iTunes. iTunes recognized it as an iPhone in recovery mode. I downloaded 8.1 on my computer and it installed it to the phone. It completely wiped everything clean and I restored from the latest iCloud backup. So far so good!

Must have been something wrong with the version of 8.1 that I got over wifi...

Same as everyone before. Had trouble first while updating from 8.02 to 8.1.

This is the third time that while listening to a podcast the Phone goes to a blank gray screen then is stuck in a loop with the apple logo and this blue screen.

When connected to itunes I was able to restore once and get it back to normal only to fall into the same loop again.

I have since backed up and updated my ipad.

My wife's iphone 5 and my opd iphone all with the same USB itunes and cables. No problems with any of those. I know then that it has to be the iphone 5s and its update thats rendering me phoneless.

I tried the DFU restore and factory reset. It booted fine after that and i am currently restoring 50 GBs from iCloud, will post later if the blue screen comes back.

What a pain ! THE ONLY SOLUTION THAT HAS WORKED FOR ME WAS TO RESTORE MY PHONE ON iTUNES. I updated my iPhone 5s with the 8.1 update and it went into the blue screen loop after rebooting. I held down my home/ lock to turn off my phone, but it continued to loop when I turned it on. So I connected it to iTunes to recover it. Luckily my phone was backed up so I could recover my info. Apparently a lot of people have been having this problem, when I called my cell service for report I was told that it was a known issue, so I am hoping they fix this. What a nightmare !!

I starting having the same problem few weeks ago, Took the phone to Genius Bar and nothing. My phone is not working right now and Apple told me that I was out of my warrant only 5 days when it happened.

I guess no more Apple.

Had the same problem today with my 5s!

I tried to connect it to iTunes as suggested - it didn't work. 😮 Pressing home and power button at the same time didn't work for me either so I was already thinking about throwing the phone out of the window...but luckily my co-worker knew the solution 😍

Here's what helped: connect the iPhone via USB to your computer, then press home and power button at the same time for 10 seconds. Let go of the power button and press home for another 10 seconds (DFU mode). Your iPhone should now connect to iTunes - if not, unplug the phone and repeat until it works. You should be able to update via iTunes.

MMine has done the same thing. I live in australia so of to Telstra in a few hours. I tried to restore it via the computer that didn't work. This is the first time I gave been unhappy with apple in years... 👿
