Same problem here with the LBP2900 and Yosemite 10.10 on a MBP mid-2900. I've been trying to fix it since 2 days. I'm clueless. Please somebody help us. :-)

Hi, see if reset the printing system helps.
I finally solved the problem.
1. Delete your printer in Printers and scanners preferences.
2. Restart computer.
3. Download and install the following driver (version 3.67 has just been released for Yosemite): http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100420705.html
4. Restart computer.
5. Download and install the patch appearing at step 3 on this page: http://macdaily.me/howto/how-to-install-canon-lbp2900-on-mac-os-x-mavericks/
6. Restart computer.
7. Connect the printer with USB, add the driver in Printers and scanners preferences, select the appropriate driver.
8. Enjoy the rest of the day.
It works!!! Thank you very much Wanderer75
You're very welcome. :-)
Thank You Wanderer75
Its up and running, just like old times! 😀
Hi Wanderer75,
Thanks for providing the detailed guideline.
I've been able to follow till step 6 perfectly, but am then stuck on 7.
While adding the printer again, do I pick Select Software or Other?
I've already tried Select Software>Canon LBP2900 CAPT (UK)>Add, but this adds some old driver version 3.36.
How do I locate the latest driver that I just installed?
Help would be really appreciated.
Hi Guptasud,
I'm sorry I can't really help further. The LBP2900 driver should appear in the drop down box as it seems it does, through "select software".
I don't understand why the later driver isn't added, but I don't think you'll be able to find and add it through "other".
Good luck!
very useful!! i'm very happy! thank you very much!! 🙂
This works! Many thanks.
Hi Guptasud,
Yes, the patch installs an old 3.36 driver but that makes the printer work on Yosemite 10.10.1.
I added a step after Step 1.
Before restarting, I went to Library/Printers and deleted all the folders in there. Then I followed the next steps after a restart.
You can see if this works for you, but please keep in mind it will probably remove all other working printers you might have installed on your system.
Thanks Wanderer you saved my trip!

Hi, I have OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and the driver software from the link you posted doesn't seem to support LBP-2900. It supports 3000 but not 2900. Can you please Suggest a Solution?
