iOS 8.1 wifi hotspot - can't connect anymore.

upgraded to 8.1 ios today on my IPHONE 6 and expected my wifi dropping to be fixed. still continuously drops in and out of my wifi. As big as apple is, they still cant get a simple thing such as the wifi working.. disappointing.

I had this problem too. I had to reset the network settings of both my iPhone and iPad, change the device names back to what I wanted and then it worked. What doesn't work though is when the hotspot is turned off the tethering device, my phone, doesn't reconnect back to wifi itself when it is no longer in use as a hotspot.

Same for me. Wifi connection was fine until I upgraded to 8.1. Frustrating.

Same for me. Everything worked perfectly until iOS 8.1 came. Now it simply doesn't connect to any hotspots. Tried all recommended fixes. Tried with several hotspots. My Macbook and my wife's iPhone (in iOS 8.0.2) connect without problems. No idea what's going on...

Same problem using iOS 8.1 on my iPhone 4S and on my iPad mini !

Same experience for my spouse and I today when we updated our iPhone 5 and iPad. We tried resetting the Network Settings as recommended but it didn't fix it.

IIt seems that 8.1 has solved nothing in relation to wifi connection. I "upgraded" yesterday and my iPad Air still drops connection for no apparent reason. My wife's iPad 2, however (not upgraded) continues to behave perfectly. Why is it that so many software upgrades tend to downgrade performance?

Same here 8.1 seems to have made it worse.

iPhone 5S

was working yesterday, though glitchy

now unable to connect to internet via WiFi or LTE

guys, I hab the same prob since updating to 8.1, after restoring the phone without any success I finally tried to restart my two hotspots and then it connected flawlessly. strange....

I got mine to work after a few steps. I did the following but I think step 4 was probably the only one needed and didn't need to do step 1-3

1. Reset both my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini holding lock and home button for 5-10 seconds

2. Reset Network settings on both iPhone 5 and iPad Mini.

3.Changed Name of phone under Settings --> About --> Name (mine was out of sync with my hotspot info)

4. On the iPad, Click the information icon beside the hotspot (i within a circle). Click the "Forget This Network" button.

i have an iphone 5 and a 5s with the same issue. Please get your @%&$ together Apple.
