I cannot connect my magic mouse or bluetooth speakers with Yosemite as I could before with Mavericks
I have a late 2008 macbook (aluminum) which has bluetooth 2.1. I knew that if I upgraded to Yosemite I would not be able to use the airdrop and handoff functionality since my machine does not have bluetooth 4.0. What I did not know is that Yosemite would completely break my ability to use bluetooth altogether. I cannot connect my magic mouse or bluetooth speakers as I could before. If I run system report and look under bluetooth is reads no Information found. In system preferences i cannot discover bluetooth devices because Yosemite doesn't see bluetooth on my machine. Is Yosemite not compatible at all with Bluetooth 2.1? It is as if Yosemite cannot see that there is actually bluetooth hardware in this machine. Is this an oversight by apple? My bluetooth worked when running mavericks. What can I do besides go back to mavericks?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
