In iTunes 12, I can't edit track numbers for podcasts.

Thanks for the reminder - I had tried this method in the past but I forgot to scroll down the page so I missed this trick. Whichever method I use it's still a bit long-winded compared to a simple right click.

After opening the "get info" box, did you notice if there was a scroll bar to the right? I found one on mine. When I scrolled down, the track and disk numbers appeared. Also, when I expanded the box, making the scroll bar go away, and then closed the box, subsequent "get info" boxes would open to the new size. Let me know if this helps. I'm using iTunes 12.1.0.50.

Yes, I found the scroll bar eventually in the new layout but it's nowhere near as easy to use as the old "Get info" pages were. Having to change the "Media type" to "Music" simply to add a track number to a podcast is ridiculous and if you forget to change it back after you've added or amended the track number the file transfers over to the "music" library. Similarly if you scroll to the next podcast before reverting back to "podcast" in the media type the file goes over to the music library and you have to go back through the whole routine to get it back to your podcasts so there is no quick way to deal with multiple podcasts.. Not at all user-friendly.

I really wonder what some of their UI designers having for lunch. 😠. It's Apple there you would expect some decent UI, all of a sudden a scroll down. 😮

As turingtest2 says, I changed a tv show to a music video where I could then edit the fields that I wanted to and then turned it back again. A bit of a work around, but this trick works.

I wasn't able to modify a song and realized it was still in iCloud. Once I downloaded it, I was able to modify and see it in Finder.
