yet another bootcamp problem after yosesmite

Hello all,

i'm one of the lucky people who have broken the win partition (win 8.1) with the update to last osx update. (the partition is/was of 50gb)

here are my output (i read some threads but i don't get what i can do after those two commands).

what can i do? i can't format windows, i mean, i've some data there that are just there and i don't have a backup.

Same issue as many others. Please see Windows error loading after Yosemite upgrade.

You will need GPT Fdisk and Testdisk. Your NTFS header was corrupted by Yosemite. It is somewhere in 392304176 58868176 range, right above GPT#4.

If you have a Late2013+ rMBP, I would highly recommend switching to EFI-based Windows when you have the opportunity and stay from this Hybrid MBR nightmare inflicted on innocent Windows-on-Mac users. 😉

Gdisk will not let you create overlapping partition entries, so you have an overlap in what Testdisk is saying your start/end/size is. Can you post a screen shot of the Testdisk screen where you found the files?

If you did not use Testdisk, what did you use to establish where your NTFS volume started/ended and its size?

i did not. i just used the data that the program told me. i read the discussion that was linked and i followed the wrong steps apparently.. anyway, i'll remove that partition and redo all the work from the beginning, next time i'll wait some time before updating the os.

You have Recovery HD between your OSX and the 50GB. If you are willing to lose your recovery hd, than both Recovery HD and 50GB can be added to OSX, but not just the 50GB after Recovery HD. Bootcamp Assistant can do it as well, but it may create a new problem for OSX.

this is what i've right now. i want to add that 50gb to the main partition.

bootcamp assistant has only the option to install windows (there's no remove windows option)

what can i do then?
what does imply to loose the recovery? i do not want to loose any more data, so the safer the better.

(what if i install win there then i remove it via bootcamp? any problem? another, easier, way is welcome)
