A recently purchased an Otterbox Defender case for my iPhone 6 and the plastic covering the Home Button damaged my screen. Would the limited warranty cover this? I called Otterbox and they said they couldn't do anything about the phone, but they offered to send me a new case...which does not solve my problem. Thanks.

Why would Apple in any way be responsible for damage to your phone caused by an aftermarket case? It's clearly not a defect in the phone. So no, your warranty from Apple would not cover damage caused by a case.
You really should be discussing this with OtterBox and not Apple seeing as how it caused the damage.
Beside the Apple warranty only covers material and workmanship. Damage is expressly excluded from the warranty coverage.
I was just wondering because Otterbox told me they couldn't do anything about it. I guess I'm just screwed.
If it was my iPhone, I would discuss this with management at OtterBox.

If you don't push back, then yes, you are screwed. Push back. If their case damaged your phone, get them to take responsibility.
I recently purchased an old iphone 4 that was kept in an Otterbox case. The case caused extensive damage to the front face of the phone, mostly around the earpiece. I am surprised that the company still does not address their problems. For now, I stay away from this type of cases.
