Macbook Pro won't charge after updating to Yosemite OS X

Just updated to Yosemite a couple days ago. Plugged in and turned on my computer the other day, the LED showed green. After working a while I noticed it was orange. Hmmm, not sure how it lost it's charge while plugged in. Now it won't charge at all. I've tried all the troubleshooting from sleep mode to shutdown, to reseting the SMC. No luck, it still won't charge. I'll be able to try a friends cord tomorrow I think but I had this issue once before with my last Mac. It wouldn't charge and then they updated the OS and problem solved.

Anyone else having this problem?

I had the same experience, after upgrading my Retina Macbook to Yosemite I started immediately getting power problems and eventually it had the exclamation mark with "replace immediately" comment.

I tried SMC, I reset PRAM, I switched between four of my power adaptors, I even prayed to gods long departed from this realm....

Then I put the old Mavericks 256 GB SSD back in it, and guess what? immediate charging!!!

So I booked a genius bar session and gate crashed the Apple store 3 days early to ensure they had parts....

Then today I turned up and the guy plugs it in to his test ipad and in 3 minutes there was no problem!!

mmmmm I think to myself.......mmmmmm

My advice to anyone with this issue, book a genius bar session ASAP. Cost was $0.....(well a week of angst..)...happy with the result....glitch in Yoseymite......Happy camper...sorta....oh let the thing sit dormant without plugging in for 48 hours...powered off.

Glad I'm not the only one with that glitch... And I'm glad you found a fix! Thanks for the suggestion as well.

Ever since booting on my external with 10.9.5 my Macbook has been charging again. No explanation why this may be, but as you said perhaps it was just a glitch during the install or something. I don't know for sure, but it's been a few days now and everything seems to be working fine.

I always have my external on standby if I need it....

My MacBook Pro stopped charging again....for the second time. 😠

It had been working fine for the last few days after booting it with the old OS. Today I was on the computer and suddenly the charging light went out, no explanation. Tried booting from the old OS again but so far that trick is not working.

I'd follow the advice and go to the Appe Store, but I'm on the Big Island in Hawaii...no Apple Store here.

What gives Apple?? When will you release the next update to OSX Yosemite and fix this??
