Can't find Address Book in Mail App in Yosemite
I mail to multiple individuals. Previously I used Address Book & was able to pick & choose. Now that I have Yosemite, I can't find my Address Book..

Address Book is not called Contacts. It and its function should still be available in Yosemite Mail.
Pre-Yosemite Mail did indeed have an Address Panel window (a miniature version of the full Contacts app) which has now gone. You can click the + symbol on the right edge of the To, CC, fields, and add individuals, or you can drag and drop from your full Contacts app.
Matt
I have used the + and it sure is awkward.
I have to send emails to several people that until now I used to select and add to the appropriate box. Now with the + sign I can only select one by one, closing the selection window each time, for me it is unusable. So, I have to open Contacts, select and drag. It does the job but is really awkward, I have to move to another mail app. This is really bad...
I agree It's a shame the address icon and list not available in the "New and improved" Yosemite Mail program. Hopefully there is/will be a fix for it.
If you know of an elder person who has been using Mail, having the Contacts address book integration was very useful. Now that Apple has removed it is a poor decision.
Clicking the plus icon only allows adding one contact at a time which would be extremely tedious for adding multiple contacts. Plus, the contacts are being displayed in a pop-up window which disappears when not focused on.
You also have to click the contact's name before selecting the email address which adds an extra step. If the contact has more than one email address, it should be displayed directly beneath the contact's name to avoid unnecessary clicking.
Well… I fit the elder category and really miss the Contacts book integration… It was certainly more useful than using the "+" sign for individual names.
I was hoping someone knew a way to re-install the mail list into Mail like it was before. 😟
I could not agree more. It is so frustrating trying to send an email to multiple addresses without the Address Panel, I would consider downgrading from Yosemite to Mavericks.
Add me to the list of extremely disgruntled users. This is a huge step backward in functionality. The plus sign is unusable for multiple addresses, and we should not be required to open a completely separate app every time we want to send a mail to multiple locations.
Perhaps we should thank Cupertino that we're even allowed to use the Contacts app and still select-click and drag...just wait, in the next OS release, they'll take that away too and tell us "It's simpler and more elegant to address one person at a time."
I love OS X, but Apple's engineers make some utterly unfathomable decisions at times. This is one of them. Do they even use their own product?
Adding to the above post:
SEND FEEDBACK TO APPLE. They don't read these forums, but they pay attention to the feedback forms. If enough of us say this "improvement" makes Apple Mail nonfunctional, they might consider putting it back.
Mail/Provide Mail Feedback
I'm new to this... Where do I go for "Feedback"?
Everyone should be sending feedback on everything Yosemite has broken - including this feature of e-mail.
Hi
I have solved the fact you cannot pick multiple address like this:
In Contact make various groups...eg family, business etc and copy addresses into those
When emailing and you want to pick one of these go to the Contacts app, select the group, use Command A to select them all
Use Command C or right click Copy and drag to either To, CC or BCC and paste
You can then still de;eye some by highlighting and the delete key
Hope this helps....it does for me
